THE “ FROZEN WATERFALL “ 4/15 #artofgaami All sort of things happened to get the final output ➖/➕ both! – Deborah Riley ( Production designer for #gameofthrones ) responded to my queries 🫶🏼 When I approached her after going through all her interviews/podcasts/ BTS videos as there was no information as to how they built the nights-watch wall. – I got to build a mesmerizing frozen set 🧊 that pushed me to the edge—lost track of time and sleep, burnt our skin with boiling wax , but it was worth every moment! – Experienced an amazing sense of Flow throughout the process! – Definitely our pre-viz & pre production were helpful. Prototyping & material samples of all steps was a must before we begun. But little did we know what we were getting into : 🕯️ Melting the wax to the right melting point & cooling it down to get the right viscosity was the biggest challenge for appropriate texture. It was all trial and error , thankyou @vidyadharkagita & @karthiksabareesh . – Despite building this in our self made studio , audience wouldn’t buy it without @chandini.chowdary & #vishwaksen ‘s believable acting 🎭 in winter-wear during summers 🌞 – Used tons of wax, acrylic putty, POP, and polystyrene to maintain top-notch quality on a shoestring budget—less than 1/4 of industry standard! – Huge thanks to the amazing team: NIFT – JNAFAU students, Das Anna, and our dedicated crew 🙌 Couldn’t have done it without you all! ✨ – Maintenance of an all white set was also not easy with a material which cannot be washed or dustedp so easily!
