#Catchupsesh at #Uchi #WeHo Uchi has a special place on my restaurant list because the original opened in Austin in a little red bungalow and just had it’s 20th anniversary last year. All of the Uchi locations are indicative of the city they call home. The #WestHollywood location reflects Southern California’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle, large openings connect diners to a spacious patio that extends the landscape deep within the restaurant interior. Interesting fact: the rows of suspended live-edge wood slabs are milled from local city street trees! The sushi here is simple and melts in your mouth similar to what diners would expect to enjoy at Sugarfish. The more complex dishes were equally if not even more enjoyable. The flavors of the chilled and cooked dishes were delicious and the plating is superb. My recommendations: • Lychee Martini (creamy and smooth) • Hama Chili (yellowtail, ponzu, thai chili, orange supreme) • Kinoko Nabe (seasonal mushroom, koshihikari rice, egg yolk, black vinegar) *the crispy rice in this dish is still sizzling when served • Sakana Mushi (white fish, gai lan, tom kha) *one of the best curries I have had recently I would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite if sushi is your thing. Bon appétit!

I have always wondered how #GenghisCohen has been able to stay around when so many other food establishments have come and go. I had no idea it was such a local hangout! Feels super #kitschy and #retro80s with all the #paperlanterns, #redneon and #redbanquettes. But the big surprise is the side room where punk bands play. Food was good, but be prepared to speak a little louder because the bands are so loud. Definitely worth at least one visit with a group of friends. #BeverlyGrove #chinesefood

#HarryConnickJr and the #LAPhilharmonic at the #HollywoodBowl for #July4th was SPECTACULAR! The Philharmonic was beautiful and HCJr and his band were FANTASTIC! They are such amazing musicians. Really felt like we were at Preservation Hall in NOLA! HCJr’s voice is still perfection. The song he wrote for his wife was beautiful. I feel like he’s our generation’s Frank Sinatra.
