Thinking of all the boy blues out there in the world. I tried to write the song for my friend Gregory. I knew he really loved ‘That’s What Friends Are For.’ I wanted to write something as big and enduring as that for him. I used to cry every night when I sang that song. I was so mad. I was mad that my friend was gone. I didn’t understand. And then all of a sudden my friend was ill and then…It was so hard. I was so angry and every night I would sing my guts out, but you’d open your eyes after and it was the same. But sometimes, in a lot of ways, it was healing.

#SeymourStein was one of the original OG’s of Rock n’ Roll and Punk. I had known Seymour for many years and always wanted to work with him. We finally got the chance on my Detour album. He was one of those record guys that really, really loved music. He was a walking encyclopedia of music. His passion was infectious and that made making an album with him really fun. It’s an experience that I was so lucky to have and I will always cherish. Rest in Peace Seymour. Love to Mandy and the rest of his family.

We’ve been having such a blast in #Australia AND we’ve had some great visitors including Annastacia Palaszczuk, the premier of Queensland!! And this fun group of girls celebrating a 50th birthday. This has been 35 years in the making. Justine had tickets when she was 15 and got caught smoking and her father wouldn’t let her go then. I am so glad she finally made it! 🎉🎉🎉
