I keep thinking about the 199 hostages.
My friend @noatishby organized for a group of us to tape posters of all the hostages in Times Square. Looking at their faces, 6 year old, 83 year old it became so real. People walking by would stop and spend some time with them. My heart hurts for the families of these innocents- Muslim, Christian, Jewish -all. The most important thing is the rescue of these hostages.
I am grateful that @POTUS’s trip has ensured that humanitarian aid will get to every person living Gaza by negotiating free passage from Egypt.
It’s hard to process that Hamas refused to take care of the Palestinians. Blocking aid from getting to them, blocking them from leaving. They could have opened passage into Gaza immediately. They chose not too. It illustrates the lack of humanity within Hamas’ cell. Of course, the Oct 7th terror attack was the most barbaric, blood thirsty massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. I pray that they are defeated. The entire globe will be safer.
Please pray for the hostages safe return and the defeat of Hamas. Pray for the physical safety of all the innocent Palestinians and Israelis who are suffering.
Pray for peace everywhere.
And a personal request that young, passionate, far left students leave the posters up. There are videos of these posters being ripped down. That does nothing but hurt the families who want us all to remember their loved ones, as they await news.

Last night, on the 7 month anniversary of Oct 7, @bringhomenow brought our community together for “Lights of Liberty,” to honor the hostages still held captive, and the survivors of that unimaginable hell. We heard from Liat Unger whose cousin Omer Shem Tov is still being held captive, Or Gat, brother to captive Carmel Gat, Moran Stella Yanai a released hostage who shared her experience inside the tunnels. It left us all speechless.
This evening was about Hope. A commitment to bring all the hostages home. Jewish Activists gathered in brotherhood, always a comfort, and Ofir Akunis, Counsel-General of NY asserted his belief that they will succeed in saving the living hostages.
We sang the National anthem and Hatikva, the Israel’s national anthem. And the evening ended with 500 drones flying over the Statue of Liberty asking the world not to forget the loved ones stolen.
7 months underground. In silence. In darkness. Tortured. Raped. But full of hope that they will be saved. We mustn’t let them down.
The psychological torture knowing that Hamas could have released them at anytime in the past 7 months, and the war would be over, is unbearable.
The horrifying death and destruction would stop. Immediately.
And they chose not to.
It’s evil.
They don’t want peace. They have told us time and again.
And they play with the world.
Announcing they accepted a ceasefire deal that was not on the table. Ever.
33 hostages released became 18, and the rest dead hostages.
Without telling the Israelis.
Announcing to the world the news we all have been praying for, the war was ending, but, of course, it was a ploy. To make Israel look like it didn’t want a deal.
While Ham@s has turned down every single deal offered over the 7 months.
All to turn the world against Israel.
And it has worked.
My heart breaks for all the innocent Israeli and Palestinian civilians that have endured immeasurable pain and loss.
I pray that Ham#s will be wiped out, because then everyone will be free of their sadistic terror. If they stay in power (like the Nazis) there will never be peace and safety.

The only thing that would make this more beautiful is if it were Israeli and Palestinian children singing together.
We are all suffering. I thought hearing these beautiful voices would be a momentary balm. It is for ALL the children in Israel. They deserve to live free, free from fear, and terror, and loss, and hatred, bombs and missiles.

I remember getting this script, over 10 years ago 😳, and said, “This is the best pilot I’ve ever read. I have to be a part of it.” I packed my bags, said goodbye to LA, and moved back to my 1st love—NYC. It was the most joyful experience, working with the best of Broadway (hello, Bernadette Peters, Christian Borle, Megan Hilty (Marilyn🔥), Jeremy Jordan, Brian Darcy James,Leslie Odem Jr, Andy Mientus, Crysta Rodriguez, Will Chase, Anne Harada, to name a few!), Oscar nominated actors, (Anjelica Huston), and a cast full of superstars, both as actors and as people, our Marilyn exquisite Kat McPhee, Jack Davenport and Reza Jaffrey—INCREDIBLE people, celebrating the world of BROADWAY. It literally was heaven playing a playwright because I got to sit behind a table and watch, in awe, the most talented singers and dancers in the world. I just watched the pilot (directed by Tony Award winning director, Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening,)for the first time in over a decade and the last sequence still brings tears to my eyes, and a huge smile to my face. TRIGGER WARNING
As the Israel-Hamas war unfolded, the media has painted a one-sided narrative of the reality on the ground -and most recently lied to the public rather than investigating the facts, which resulted in upheaval and violence and a sharp surge of antisemitism, around the globe. This is unacceptable.
The media took the word of a terrorist organization, whose goal is to build hatred against all jews, and Israel, versus waiting an HOUR- doing due diligence and getting all of the available information from confirmed sources. Now it has been proven that Israel was not responsible, but the damage was done. No amount of retractions will reverse all the outrage.
This is a horrifying time.
It is a terrifying time. We need to be able to rely on our journalists and news outlets. Please don’t rush to catch up with social media. Do your job, and get it right the first time.
Lives are at stake.

As we’ve learned to challenge institutions, it is important to acknowledge that the United Nations (and Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch for that matter) have a deep and targeted antisemitic bias, must be challenged.
When the UN General Assembly with Iran, Syria and Russia reject a Canadian amendment condemning the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas and demanding the immediate release of hostages taken by Hamas, and then cheer on the terrorism when the resolution fails, I’m just not sure it gets any more obvious.
I had the most special evening with @therealmariskahargitay at @bluehillfarm learning about regenerative farming and how that can help fix our climate and water crisis. We were served exquisite farm to table organic dishes and were shown clips from the new documentary @commongroundfilm that is premiering in nyc at the @angelikafilmny which is incredible. I’m so grateful to all the farmers doing this transformative work and to the film makers for making such an inspiring film.

Ok. Can we just agree there are 2 old men (3 years apart) who have misnamed people while speaking, running for President. After last night’s very low energy, rambling, hour and half speech, (the longest in televised history,) at the R.N.C., it’s clear neither candidate has the energy that we hope for in a leader. BUT -Let’s keep our eye on the ball. It doesn’t matter who is the face of our nation. The POLICIES and PRIORITIES of an ADMINISTRATION are what matter. It’s Democracy vs Autocracy. Look ( in carousel) at what has been accomplished by the Democrats in the last 3 years and who has been lifted up, despite the GOP stonewalling. Look at Trump’s Supreme Court and the stripping away of women’s bodily autonomy. Contraception is next. The next POTUS will choose 2 more Justices. Look at what PROJECT 2025 promises.
