Debra Messing Instagram – Ok. Can we just agree there are 2 old men (3 years apart) who have misnamed people while speaking, running for President. After last night’s very low energy, rambling, hour and half speech, (the longest in televised history,) at the R.N.C., it’s clear neither candidate has the energy that we hope for in a leader.
BUT -Let’s keep our eye on the ball.
It doesn’t matter who is the face of our nation.
The POLICIES and PRIORITIES of an ADMINISTRATION are what matter.
It’s Democracy vs Autocracy.
Look ( in carousel) at what has been accomplished by the Democrats in the last 3 years and who has been lifted up, despite the GOP stonewalling.
Look at Trump’s Supreme Court and the stripping away of women’s bodily autonomy. Contraception is next.
The next POTUS will choose 2 more Justices.
Look at what PROJECT 2025 promises.
It is ALL written down. (Link in bio) Ask yourself if those policies take our flawed country in the most just, equitable and economically responsible and expansive direction.
THAT is our job as voters.
To choose a future for our country.
Democracy or Autocracy
Stop demanding perfect.
No human being will ever give you everything you want.
This is about getting on a bus that is going toward* where you want to be. For your children, your sisters and mothers, your LGBTQ friends and colleagues, your disabled family members, your black, brown and native friends, your elderly who need medicine and care, your nephew who wants to become a doctor but can’t afford school and the debt required to be able to serve the community.
THAT is the Question.
Which bus?
Please don’t get distracted by the drama on your TVs. Read. Educate yourself so you know when you walk into that booth that your voice will be heard.
