It’s Self-Care Month. But why celebrate ‘Self-Care Month’ when you can practice simple acts of Self-Care every day? It’s no secret that I love a good workout. And that I don’t work out to ‘look good’ but in fact to ‘feel fit’. Exercise has been part of my lifestyle for as long as I can remember. However, whenever I can’t fit in a workout, I practice *This Simple 5-Minute Routine. TBT, I practice this routine everyday! I find it especially useful after a long flight or even just to decompress. Join me in making self-care a daily practice. DM @82e.official a picture or video of a self-care act you’d like to incorporate into your routine, and you stand a chance to get featured on our page. *Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-The-Wall Pose) In Sanskrit, *viparita* means “inverted” and *karani* translates to “in action.” This active inversion position is also called the restful inversion. Lying with your legs up against the wall can benefit your mental and physical health. From calming the nervous system to strengthening immune health, this ancient posture offers so much, especially in our stressful and busy world. Waking Up / Before Starting the Day: – Supports the lymphatic and glymphatic systems, boosting your immune system. – Promotes the flow of oxygenated blood to the upper body and stimulates lymphatic fluid flow. – Aids in detoxification and lymphatic drainage. – Gently opens the hips and hamstrings. Wind Down / Before Sleeping: – Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, enhancing rest and digestion for better sleep. – Eases restless legs. When Pregnant (use a bolster or cushion for support): – Relieves feelings of heaviness and aching muscles, joints, swollen ankles and feet. – Reduces pressure on the lower back and hips. – Alleviates water retention. Who Shouldn’t Do This: – Those with glaucoma. – Individuals with uncontrollable high blood pressure. NOTE: Consult your yoga instructor before performing these asanas. It’s Self-Care Month! But why celebrate ‘Self-Care Month’ when you can practice simple acts of ‘Self-Care Everyday’? Now, when it comes to Skincare, of course eating right, sleeping well, adequate hydration and movement are the key pillars of maintaining healthy skin, but a Simple yet Consistent Skincare Routine is what has truly worked for me! It consists of 3 simple steps: Cleanse, Hydrate and Protect. Then, there is that one day in the week where I like to Indulge and do just a little bit more…A full body massage, a face mask, a hair mask. I’m listing down (for those of you who’ve been asking) my go to Everyday as well as Indulge Products: Everyday: -Lotus Splash (Cleanser) -Rose Boost (UnderEye Cream) -Ashwagandha Bounce(Moisturiser) -Turmeric Shield (Sunscreen) -Pomegranate Sheen (Lip Oil) Indulge: -Manjishtha Mud (Face Mask) All of the above practiced Consistently and Mindfully.Because I don’t know any other way.And it’s been this way for as long as I can remember… What is your Skincare routine? Is it simple? Are you consistent? Do you practice it mindfully? DM @82e.official a picture or a video of your everyday as well as indulge skincare routine and you could be featured on our page. Additional Disclaimers: -I’m not a picture/ selfie person so kindly appreciate the fact that I’m sharing soo many with you’ll!Im even wondering when and why I took these!?🙄😅🫣 -I just HAD to use this track because I love it and anyway it’s coming out of peoples ears no?🤷🏽♀️😅
It’s Self-Care Month! But why celebrate ‘Self-Care Month’ when you can practice simple acts of Self-Care every day? I know a lot of you often look at my feed and go “Here we go again! Another picture of the Sky…or Flowers…or the Ocean!”😄 But the truth is, that I find spending time outdoors and in nature truly relaxing and therapeutic. However, for most of us, finding those spaces may not be the most convenient, accessible or may not even exist! And that’s why, whenever I do get the opportunity, I try and make the most of it. It’s where I don’t just survive, I thrive! Whenever that isn’t possible though, I resort to what I believe is the next best. I take a few moments and step away. Between shots, between meetings to a place that feels completely different from the space I spend most of my time in. It’s something my father taught me. Stepping away allows me to pause, breathe and re-align…myself and my thoughts. P.S. For those of you who smoke, those breaks don’t count!🫣 Join me in making self-care a daily practice. DM @82e.official a picture or a video of your favourite ritual that allows you to pause, breathe and re-align. I hope you found today’s post useful. Surprised to see this on my feed? Well, I eat! And I eat well! Ask anyone who knows me. So don’t believe anything else you might hear or read. The trick? Balance, Consistency and Listening to YOUR Body. There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding around the word ‘Diet’. We often believe that ‘Diet’ means to starve, to eat less and to eat all of the things we detest. What ‘Diet’ really means is the total of all the food and drink consumed by an individual. The word actually comes from the Greek word “diaita,” which means “way of life.” I’ve always, for as long as I can remember, followed a ‘Balanced Diet’. And it is for me ‘a way of life’. I’ve never followed a diet that I cannot be consistent with or one that is a fad. Now, do I indulge? Of course, I do, as demonstrated above!😅 But it most certainly isn’t my way of life. Ever heard the phrase ‘you are what you eat?’ If there’s one thing I’ve learnt (the hard-ish way) is that those words couldn’t be truer. I’d love to know about your diet and how you indulge if and when you do! DM @82e.official . I hope you found today’s post useful. For more of some of my simple self-care practices, stay tuned…🤍
