Michelle Obama Instagram – This Mandela Day, I want to tell you about an inspiring leader who is following in Madiba’s footsteps – Thokozile “Thoko” Nhlumayo. Thoko serves as the Secretary General of the International Youth Parliament and founded the #nottooyoungtolead movement to advocate for more young people to be given opportunities to get involved in government. She’s also a published author who proudly shares her story as a queer activist and encourages others to share their own stories.
While in South Africa last fall, I had the chance to meet Thoko and hear more about her story along with some of our incredible @obamafoundation Africa Leaders who are working to create change throughout the continent.
