Amazoniaaaaa came through for me real quick cause these are CLIP-INS, BOO BOO!! My original hair plan fell through so, per usual, I had to figure it out last minute. I’ve done clip-ins before and wanted something quick and beautiful. We completed this style in less than 20 minutes (sans washing hair and platting it down). I just put a few low maintenance chunky twists in my hair – not neat at all! But, I made sure my ends were protected with the right products so I can keep my hair from splitting, thus retaining growth. I currently use @dreamgirlshair hair oil to protect my ends. @marquiswardbeauty is my creative soul mate and brother, so he’s ok with doing my hair – but, DO NOT book him for hair!!! Of course he did my glam, you can book him for that, 😂. Anyways, this was the process of how this look was achieved for the Sistas Meet & Greet. I think I spent $60-$90 on the hair per box and used 3 boxes. I also bought a few different options as back ups. It’s 20” hair kinky curly hair. There was no extra product put in. Just took some scissors ✂️ to it and shaped it! We didn’t have a needle to close the top, but Marquis made it work!! Overall, I think we nailed it!! @chadlawsonphotos took all the images and I loveee them! Any tips or tricks? It’s REALLY the 2nd slide for me!!!! 😭 😭 I’m so thankful, I’m so thankful!! Whew!!! It’s been a journey, but I finally made it! Thank you to my support system – I could not have accomplished this without y’all. My CPA (Brandi) my mom, my man, my best friends (Bryan, Q & Rhy), my new friend, Janean & my money guy, (Jason). There have been countless times I have been helped by my community when I was in financial chaos and confusion. The bags of groceries, the $35 loan so I can get gas, pay for parking at my auditions and jobs, becoming my guarantor on my apartments when I moved to LA with no license, money, plan or agent (Q, I will NEVER forget that – EVER). My community knew I was able to make money – I always have a job! Yet, they knew I was going after a dream that takes A LOT of loses before wins. I was printing my headshots & resumes at Kinkos a little at a time just to get to my auditions. Soooo many people helped me because they believed in me. I showed them that I was serious and my community is a HUGE reason I got here! When my man started learning about credit and told me “I’m gonna help you fix your credit” – he really meant that shit!! My mom never allowed me to have too many credit cards, but allowed me to make enough mistakes for me to learn. Thank you, mom for always protecting and encouraging me financially. You always looked out for me, even when you were struggling yourself. In the beginning, it wasn’t easy – I postponed conversations because I felt dumb & embarrassed when it came to financial language. I cried on the phone with my CPA. But, she’s patient and her goal is to get people like me financially savvy and sound. Thank you, Brandi. Thank YOU. For allowing me to safely go through the cycles of fear, disappointment, frustration and confusion when it came to this. I am proud of myself. I stuck through it and the results show. 😭 WHEW!!
