Today was a perfect way to spend a hot summer day! So proud of the little legs to make the long hike down to the waterfall. We are finally in the “sweet spot” of little kids when they aren’t completely helpless 😜 and we can do things like go on a 3 mile hike without carrying sacks of potatoes most of the way. Excited to have more hiking adventures in our future!

Sweet Tofu came to live with us a few weeks ago. Before this, I had never spent time with a cow before. Heck, I don’t think I had even pet a cow! I knew they were sweet animals but had no idea how calm and gentle they were… how they have their own personalities… and how they love to be loved. Tofu is the best addition to our farm. And if I didn’t already have a lifestyle that omits all chicken/pork/beef, there’s no way I could ever eat another steak or beef burger again after knowing Tofu. He truly is just a great big puppy dog! And I hope he lives forever… #farmlife

I love making memories like these. Since moving here to Tennessee in July 2020, we’ve gone to this same camp site every year for their Halloween festivities. We stay in the same cabin, hike the same trail (with a white wine… cause, hey, hiking is more fun with white wine when you’re camping)… and visit the same hawk (and sacrifice Cricket). It makes us smile when they remember their previous visits and talk about friends they made around the campfire, piles of leaves they ran through and games that were played in the cabin. I hope to continue this little tradition of ours until our boys are teenagers and “too cool” to pretend to be eaten by a goblin. (Which, let it be known that the goblin would, for sure, spit Charlie back out. He’s a spicy little one!) #camping #familyfun #partyoffive

The saying “it takes a village” became truth to me in 2016, when I joined a mommy & me class with baby Finn. That’s when I met these girls. Over the last 8 years, we’ve experienced all of the highs and lows of parenting together… and truthfully, I don’t think I would have survived with any amount of sanity if it wasn’t for our friendship. This is a group of women who truly hold space for eachother… space to vent, to ask for advice, to share the humors or frustrations that come with “adulting.” And this weekend was the first time we have ever met up without our kids, for fun adult time… IN VEGAS!!!!! We slept in (whaaaaat!?), we ate good food (while it was still hot!… mamas, you know…), we laid by the pool (without having to help a kid swim), we stayed up late laughing (without the fear of early morning adult responsibilities) and….. we went to MAGIC MIKE!!! 🫣 (side note… they brought me on stage to sit on a guys lap while he drummed… for an uncomfortable amount of time. I’ll spare you the video, but here’s a pic of them leading me up. Sooo embarrassing. 🥸) Oh! And what a sweet ending to our time together… two geese had their babies out for a stroll on a very busy road and some super kind taxi driver was helping to make sure they got to where they were going safely.
