Taylor Rees Instagram – Moving through the jungle was a veritable circus of science and observation, taught not only by @dr_bruce_means and @fuconei, our Venezuelan biologist and Tepui expert, but also our ecology-trained Guyanese leaders like Wally and the dozens of Akawaio guides who charted our way every step. Mornings and nights were spent peeking under leaves, scampering into ravines, turning over logs, following chirps and rustling in the bushes. And when anything was discovered, a whooping shout to draw in anyone else curious to see what was seen. This journey was as much about new species to science and the first ascent of a new wall as it was about strengthening our inner curiosity for life itself, and telling that story to share with others.
