Aliyah O'Brien Instagram - ALL. THE. YUM. Lately I hear the phrase “you’re such a Taurus” a lot from my astrology savvy friends. I didn’t used to understand this, but now I realize they are referring to my love affair with SENSUALITY. Sensuality often gets confused with sexuality, and don’t get me wrong… it’s HUGELY important for some of us when it comes to sexual intimacy, but it’s deliciousness reaches far beyond sex. (Agh, now all I can think about is being touched 🙃). Okay, focus. We were talking recently with the fabulous @mejoetowne on our podcast THIS JUICY LIFE (@juicylifeco - if you’re not already following ;) about everyday juicy moments, and he brought up activating the senses. Also a fellow Taurus, we jive on the importance of surrounding ourselves with that which ignites our inner deliciousness. For me one of the easiest ways to dial up the JUICE in my day is to make space for, and SAVOUR that which FEELS yummy. If I can’t be barefoot, barely clothed, with the sun on my face in Bali… I can still rock a cozy sweater with no pants (obviously 🙄) and have a pancake dance party, while burning some Bali incense and drinking my favorite coffee ☕️💃🏻🥞😋 I think the key is CHOOSING something that delights you and really being PRESENT with it. Also appreciation…appreciation makes EVERYTHING better 🙌 Is sensuality one of your juicy life ingredients? Aliyah O'Brien Instagram - Does it really matter? I've been catching myself in moments of anxiousness and overwhelm and asking myself this a lot lately... Does it really matter? Or maybe a better question is, Is this stress really necessary? Guess what... the answer is unequivocally NOPE. Does it matter? Yes, sure, there are important things happening, but do they require me stressing about them? Again, nope. The stress comes from this sneaky pressure I've always put on myself, (Why are we so bloody hard on ourselves?!). And I’ve worn this pressure for far far too long, like a stinky old jacket. And guess what… I want to be naked! (surprise 😉) So I tune into the subtle anxiousness. Pause. Breathe. And ask... Does it really matter? Like is anyone going to die? Can I soften a little, and treat myself with the love I would a friend or small child? Breathe again. Sometimes I laugh at myself. It helps. Truly. And then I take off the jacket. Looking back my heart bursts with appreciation 💖 Juicy, heart filled adventures with so SO many amazing friends new and old 🥰 I’ll post more later but for now I’m enjoying LIVING in the moment far too much to be on social media 😉 My word of the year which I’ve adopted from my new Spanish friends @panaderofernando and @alfredibz88 is… ESPECTACULAR!! And the partner sobs uncontrollably and can’t even look at them… That was me when I saw @kristineilana for the first time when we reunited in Mexico after being away for 2.5 months 🙈 It wasn’t a surprise. I was the one that went away. And yet my heart exploded out of my eyeballs uncontrollably. I literally turned away and couldn’t look at her for a minute. We’re being called to rewrite the narrative that has kept us separate for far far too long. It’s time to ask ourselves, how would love lead? What would peace do? What actions can I take that stand for life and liberation for ALL? Like my friend @iamjoelleon says… “This world is so hard but please keep softening, please keep softening. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain by softening.” We don’t get peace through violence. The more we can unite, the more chance we have of breaking the cycles of trauma and forging new ones built on love. Each of us needs to show up this way if we’re going to expect our leaders to do the same. And good gawd do we ever need real Leaders today. Ones who - Lead with love, - Are backed by intelligence - And uphold humanity first When I say CEASEFIRE it means so much more than stopping shooting. I didn’t used to understand this, but now I realize they are referring to my love affair with SENSUALITY. Sensuality often gets confused with sexuality, and don’t get me wrong… it’s HUGELY important for some of us when it comes to sexual intimacy, but it’s deliciousness reaches far beyond sex. (Agh, now all I can think about is being touched 🙃). Okay, focus. We were talking recently with the fabulous @mejoetowne on our podcast THIS JUICY LIFE (@juicylifeco - if you’re not already following ;) about everyday juicy moments, and he brought up activating the senses. Also a fellow Taurus, we jive on the importance of surrounding ourselves with that which ignites our inner deliciousness. For me one of the easiest ways to dial up the JUICE in my day is to make space for, and SAVOUR that which FEELS yummy. If I can’t be barefoot, barely clothed, with the sun on my face in Bali… I can still rock a cozy sweater with no pants (obviously 🙄) and have a pancake dance party, while burning some Bali incense and drinking my favorite coffee ☕️💃🏻🥞😋 I think the key is CHOOSING something that delights you and really being PRESENT with it. Also appreciation…appreciation makes EVERYTHING better 🙌 Is sensuality one of your juicy life ingredients? We’re being called to rewrite the narrative that has kept us separate for far far too long. It’s time to ask ourselves, how would love lead? What would peace do? What actions can I take that stand for life and liberation for ALL? Like my friend @iamjoelleon says… “This world is so hard but please keep softening, please keep softening. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain by softening.” We don’t get peace through violence. The more we can unite, the more chance we have of breaking the cycles of trauma and forging new ones built on love. Each of us needs to show up this way if we’re going to expect our leaders to do the same. And good gawd do we ever need real Leaders today. Ones who - Lead with love, - Are backed by intelligence - And uphold humanity first When I say CEASEFIRE it means so much more than stopping shooting. It’s a call to stop oppression and learn a new way to co-exist. For Palestinians, for Jews, for each and every beating heart. For love. For liberation. For peace. For Humanity.
