Aylya Marzolf Instagram - On April 11th at 4:25 am in the comfort of our own home we welcomed Mosey earth side. Birth Story: (Short version) We werenā€™t expecting him to come early, Dirk was actually a few hours out of town for a job when it all started. I brushed it off and thought this canā€™t be it. Luckily I checked in with the midwives and she suggested Dirk come home. By the time he got home I was in full blown labor, contractions I couldnā€™t talk through and the midwives came right away. They set up the birth tub in our bedroom. I could barely walk the contractions were so intense. I labored in the tub, then on a birthing stool and then in my bed. And with the help and support of Dirk, Cassius and our midwives from @kindredspacela Mosey was born into our loving arms. Iā€™d be lying if I didnā€™t say it was the hardest thing Iā€™ve ever done, but it was 100% worth it. And I havenā€™t had to leave my bed since (except to go to the bathroom). It has been so warm, personal and loving. This entire experience. And it continues to be. I know home birth isnā€™t for everyone, but if you are curious about it Iā€™m happy to talk about it all day. Truly a gift. Iā€™m so incredibly grateful. Aylya Marzolf Instagram - I havenā€™t talked too much about what a triumph this pregnancy is for me. Bring in the industry I am in, going through the trials and tribulations of domestic violence and divorce, being a single mother, learning to love myself when it felt like no one else could, doing everything for everyone, and coming to a place where I tried to accept that maybe happily ever after just wasnā€™t a part of my storyā€¦ to marrying a man who stepped up so that Cassius could see what the word ā€œDadā€ really means @dirkmai :). To fighting to love each other better, to being worried that maybe my age would hinder us from having a child, to a miscarriage, to now being weeks away from meeting this child in my womb. Life is never perfect. But for anyone going through the trenches and feeling like it may never get betterā€¦. Let me assure you, it might just look different, and better than you had ever imagined. Motherhood is such a crazy thing. On one hand seeing the amazing little human that he is growing into makes me so proud and full of joy, and on the other I so badly wish heā€™d stay little and in my arms forever. Birth Story: (Short version) We werenā€™t expecting him to come early, Dirk was actually a few hours out of town for a job when it all started. I brushed it off and thought this canā€™t be it. Luckily I checked in with the midwives and she suggested Dirk come home. By the time he got home I was in full blown labor, contractions I couldnā€™t talk through and the midwives came right away. They set up the birth tub in our bedroom. I could barely walk the contractions were so intense. I labored in the tub, then on a birthing stool and then in my bed. And with the help and support of Dirk, Cassius and our midwives from @kindredspacela Mosey was born into our loving arms. Iā€™d be lying if I didnā€™t say it was the hardest thing Iā€™ve ever done, but it was 100% worth it. And I havenā€™t had to leave my bed since (except to go to the bathroom). Luckily I checked in with the midwives and she suggested Dirk come home. By the time he got home I was in full blown labor, contractions I couldnā€™t talk through and the midwives came right away. They set up the birth tub in our bedroom. I could barely walk the contractions were so intense. I labored in the tub, then on a birthing stool and then in my bed. And with the help and support of Dirk, Cassius and our midwives from @kindredspacela Mosey was born into our loving arms. Iā€™d be lying if I didnā€™t say it was the hardest thing Iā€™ve ever done, but it was 100% worth it. And I havenā€™t had to leave my bed since (except to go to the bathroom).
