Caption : It’s Friday which means we’re back on audio with our next deep-dive, and it’s the highly requested case of the Menendez brothers. On August 20th, 1989, business executive Jose Menendez and his wife Kitty were brutally murdered while sitting in the living room of their sprawling Mediterranean style mansion, and what seemingly made this tragedy worse was the fact that their two sons, Lyle and Erik, were the ones to make the gruesome discovery of their bodies. Suddenly orphaned, the Menendez brothers were initially looked at with sympathy, but soon they would be on trial for the murder of their parents. Caption : Hey everyone! We’re finally onto a new deep dive, and this one was requested by SO many people. We’re covering the 2016 case of the Rhoden Family, where, in a single night, 8 members of one family were murdered in a planned and calculated attack that stunned the tiny village of Piketon, Ohio. The investigation into these crimes would go on to be the biggest in Ohio’s history, involving dozens of interviews, Facebook threats, and multiple crime scenes. Who would be capable of wiping out this many people in a single night? And why was the Rhoden family the sole target? Caption : We’re back on audio discussing the tragic case of Riley Strain this week, and though it’s different from what we usually cover, we thought it was important to talk about. Riley Strain went missing in Nashville, TN earlier this month, and his disappearance made headlines across the country. Though Riley’s movements were caught on multiple cameras as he traveled back to his hotel, he would be missing for weeks. It wouldn’t be until March 22 that he would be found. We talk about keeping yourself safe on our channel fairly often, so we felt that even though police have said foul play is probably not involved, Riley’s case is an unfortunate situation where even when you’re with friends, surrounded by people, speaking to a police officer, and even caught on camera, you still never know what may happen. #truecrime #rileystrain #truecrimecommunity #rileystrainmissingLikes : 1558

After getting home at around 8:30 am, Melinda called her husband, Troy, who was at work. Before getting off the phone, Melinda said she was going to sleep until Troy and their kids returned home later that day. When Troy and the kids arrived home at around 3:45 pm, Melinda wasn’t there. Instead, they found signs of a violent struggle and blood inside the house. Concerned for Melinda’s safety, Troy contacted the police to report her missing. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and concluded that Melinda had been assaulted and abducted. Despite a thorough search and investigation, no sign of Melinda has ever been uncovered. Caption : We’re back on audio with another episode of Detective Perspective. This week, we’re covering the 1988 murder of 14-year-old Brandy Hutchins and the bizarre circumstances surrounding her case. On November 8, 1988, Brandy Hutchins, a 14-year-old beloved daughter, told her friends and family that she was pregnant with her boyfriend’s child. Tragically, just four days later, she was discovered murdered in the root cellar of an abandoned house in Coal Hill, Arkansas. During the police investigation at the house, they found a piece of paper with a positive pregnancy test result next to Brandy’s body. However, when Brandy’s autopsy results came back, they revealed she was not pregnant and had never been. It turned out that Brandy had not been honest about her pregnancy. After learning this, the police suspected that the fake positive pregnancy test might have played a role in her death. They focused their attention on two suspects, including Brandy’s boyfriend, but unfortunately, they never found enough evidence to make an arrest. It’s been more than 35 years since Brandy was killed, and investigators are still searching for answers… #truecrime #unsolved #mystery #coldcase #brandyhutchinsLikes : 3

Caption : Our episode on the unsolved murder of Missy Bevers is now out on YouTube! This case has gone unsolved for over eight years, even though there is security footage of the suspect, and many theories as to what the motive could have been. We hope you’ll check out the video to learn the details of the case and take a look at the footage, because you never know if you might recognize something and be able to crack the case. Missy Bevers was murdered at some point between 4:20 and 5:00 am on April 18, 2016 while she was inside the Creekside Church of Christ in Midlothian, Texas. The police believe the suspect is 5’8” with a helmet on. They do not know the gender or race of the suspect, however they believe the suspect is light-skinned. They ask that everyone watch the video footage to see if you recognize the suspect. Investigators are also looking for the driver of a Silver Nissan Altima, who was seen in the parking lot of SWFA Outdoors just a few hours before Missy was murdered. The driver is not a suspect, but police would like to speak to them. If you have any information in this case, you can call Crime Stoppers of Ellis County at 972-937-7297, or call the Midlothian Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 972-775-7634. Caption : Episode 37 of Detective Perspective is out now on audio, and we’re doing something a little bit different today. The case of Missy Bevers is more high-profile than we usually cover, but the anniversary of her murder has just recently passed, and we wanted to keep it in the news as we absolutely believe it can someday be solved. In the early morning hours of April 18, 2016, Missy Bevers, a 45-year-old beloved mom, wife, fitness instructor, and so much more, was murdered inside Creekside Church of Christ in Midlothian, Texas. When police checked the surveillance footage, they learned that Missy had been viciously attacked by someone wearing tactical gear, and carrying a hammer. Despite the killer being captured on camera, no suspects have ever been identified. It’s been just over eight years since Missy was killed, and investigators are still searching for the person responsible… #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #crime #unsolved #mystery #missybeversLikes : 3

On the morning of March 10, 1997, Leah Rowlands, a 41-year-old mother of two, worked at the Amoco gas station just off Interstate 80 in Cozad, Nebraska. Before the afternoon arrived, Leah was found shot to death behind the counter. When police reviewed the Amoco’s surveillance footage, they saw that just after 10:30am, a white, barefoot man robbed Leah. After she gave him $150, he ordered her to lie down behind the counter. He then pulled out a gun, leaned over the counter, and shot her three times. After shooting Leah, the killer went back to his car and drove away, never to be seen again. It’s been nearly 27 years since Leah was killed, and investigators are still searching for the person responsible… #truecrime #unsolved #coldcase #truecrimecommunity #podcast #mysteryLikes : 3
