Caption : Yesterday we lost someone that exuded love. I don’t want to make a sad post because whenever you see “Jeffery” (as my grandma would call him), “Tit”, Willow” or simply “Uncle” he was always smiling and happy. Even as his health deteriorated he was in high spirits. Never missed a moment to express his love, with a big smile, and an even bigger hug! This picture is from my Sweet 16 in 2007. Funny thing about this picture was it was a white party, and some kids decided to come and ruin my party in all black and say “F Lexie and F the white party!” Why they did that beats the hell outta me. If you know my family and know how deep my blood run that was the worst mistake😂😂😂. The party went from up stairs to in the parking lot and all I remember is Willow whopping a n*gg@ with a belt 🤣🤣🤣 and THIS I cannot make up! He took his belt off a whooped a whole teenager 😂😂😂. He never played about his “niecy pooh” or any of his nieces, cousins, God daughter or his precious treasures his children! He stood on family and never tolerated any disrespect when it came to family! And honestly if he loved you near or far you were family. Willow we took Uncle Butch really hard! The original Brewster Project playa, from pimpin to the games ppl play. Our family story runs deep but the depths of our love runs deeper! You took us out with this one! But one thing we know you loved everyone and everyone loved you! You will be missed dearly but your legacy beyond this street sh!t will live forever! Caption : Excerpt from book “Not so def poet” “*phone rings* Sunday December 7, 2003 9:14am My groggy 12 year old voice answers the phone “Hello” The voice on the other line is my Uncle Willow sounding frantic Okay “Baby where ya mama at where ya mama at” “I don’t know I’m at grandmas…” Uncle Willow hangs up abruptly. Willow wasn’t my biological uncle but like most black folks a village raises a family so we adopted all the cousins, aunties, uncles and grandmas of the ghetto. Minutes later my mother enters the door, she and my aunt Pam looked as though they had been up all night. In my gut this didn’t feel good. My mother has on black stretch pants, a suede red over sized button up blouse and nude leather wedge slides. Her blonde TBoz cut was none the less bed side hair but her soft tresses fell so beautifully. As for Pam, denim Jeans brown turtle neck with matching beebop cap brown shoe boots to match. They wake the house up and everyone comes to the den where I had been sleeping. Growing up I loved sleeping on the couch. I sit up my papa sits on my right side hand on my back and my mother on the left. I could see the puffiness of her eyes through her Fred Frames. Caption : Excerpt from book “Not so def poet” “*phone rings* Sunday December 7, 2003 9:14am My groggy 12 year old voice answers the phone “Hello” The voice on the other line is my Uncle Willow sounding frantic Okay “Baby where ya mama at where ya mama at” “I don’t know I’m at grandmas…” Uncle Willow hangs up abruptly. Willow wasn’t my biological uncle but like most black folks a village raises a family so we adopted all the cousins, aunties, uncles and grandmas of the ghetto. Minutes later my mother enters the door, she and my aunt Pam looked as though they had been up all night. In my gut this didn’t feel good. My mother has on black stretch pants, a suede red over sized button up blouse and nude leather wedge slides. Her blonde TBoz cut was none the less bed side hair but her soft tresses fell so beautifully. As for Pam, denim Jeans brown turtle neck with matching beebop cap brown shoe boots to match. They wake the house up and everyone comes to the den where I had been sleeping. Growing up I loved sleeping on the couch. I sit up my papa sits on my right side hand on my back and my mother on the left. I could see the puffiness of her eyes through her Fred Frames.
