Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - I waited awhile to post this (because spoilers!) but I just want to say that playing Betsy in @cobrakaiseries has been an absolute dream 💕

I was surprised and overjoyed to get to come back for this little scene in season 5, and I’m forever grateful to @jonhurwitz @haydenschlossberg101 @healdrules @ralph_macchio @william_zabka Joe Piarulli and all of the writers, cast, and crew for welcoming me in and letting me be a tiny piece of the Cobra Kai family. Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - Joey got some film developed and it feels like a little secret doorway back into some very dear memories from this year. The most beautiful Tennessee snow day, perching awe-struck beside the Grand Canyon, my grandma’s cute cross-stitch, reveling in the perfect mid-Summer breeze in Rocky Mountain National Park, the bittersweet final days in the very first house that we made into a home together, and the pure ecstatic joy of sledding at White Sands.

And this first one here, this one in the checkered sweater — Joey snapped it a couple weeks ago to finish out the roll of film, and said it turned out to be his favorite one of all of them. ☺️

What a beautiful life. This year was not at all what I thought it would be when I first ventured into it on January 1st, and I would be lying if I told you that I have not had to grieve that a little — that year that I thought I would have — but it has been full of such love and so much goodness, and I am deeply grateful. 💕

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - Happy birthday, my dearest love. Life is so good with you. ♥️

I wrote this song (in the last slide) for @joeyciccoline two summers ago, as a little wedding gift.

I still don’t exactly know how to grow old — or how to do any of this, really — but figuring it all out, and building a life alongside Joey is an absolute gift. 🥹

“I don’t know how to grow old

Because I learned to read in a library

Of heroes who died at 23;

A simple life’s a mystery to me

And then came you, unexpectedly

To feed all that’s good and true in me.” ♥️

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - One of the many joys of playing Megan in The Last Son was that I was able to draw on my deep love of old folk melodies and weave them into the world of this quiet, isolated, mysterious young woman that I loved so much. ♥️

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - On Monday I turned thirty and crossed the threshold into a new decade of life ✨

I am so grateful for all of the gifts, the lessons, and the wonderful people that this past decade has brought me. What a blessing to have crossed paths with each of you. ♥️

It would be impossible to capture it in a few lines, and ridiculous to try, but here are a few highlights that I’m savoring:

✨ reading books that will stay with me forever and ever (and there was light by jacques lusseyran always comes to mind)

✨ becoming an auntie to 3 more nieces 1 new nephew (then gaining 3 more, by marriage!)

✨ marrying @joeyciccoline on a perfect Summer morning in Iceland

✨ every bit of artistic creation collaboration I was part of: writing producing my first short film, releasing a single (Holy Magic!), guest starring in some wonderful shows playing lead roles in my first features

✨ organizing fighting for a better world with some of the most wonderful humans I know through @amnestyusa

✨ the most awe-inspiring travels (mostly with @joeyciccoline @amber.wms.ford and @elizabethblloyd 😍)

✨ playing Betsy in @cobrakaiseries — it brings me so much joy to be part of the Karate Kid Universe, and to see the way it brings people together across generations. 🥹🐍

✨ feeling so, so tiny in the Redwood Forest

✨ spontaneously driving the whole Blue Ridge Parkway with my sister and finding incredible folk music history other hidden gems along the way

✨ meeting @w_potrzebie by chance in New York City when I helped him find his bus stop, then having a friendship that has spanned almost a decade, two continents, and tons of sweet adventures 🥹

✨ adopting a tiny backyard urchin (kitten) that brings me an outsize amount of joy every single day

✨ discovering the pure happiness of growing flowers

✨ getting to take my lovely mom to Europe (thanks to @kpalmerenator !)

✨ the kindness goodness of everyone I’ve met through @in.the.firelight and the profound connection I feel with each of you your stories 🥹

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - “There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium, and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have only to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.” - Martha Graham

Our longest night doesn’t mean that the sun is generating less light. It’s a function of where we are in relation to the light.

Hope, like sunlight, may be shadowed without being fundamentally diminished.” - @cryptonaturalist

Hope, like sunlight, may be shadowed without being fundamentally diminished.” - @cryptonaturalist

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - White Sands National Park fills me with pure ecstatic joy. 😍😭

You can’t tell from these pictures, because I was trying to be cool and fit the vibe of our silly photoshoot, but I was neither chill nor cool on the inside because this place is AN ABSOLUTE WONDER ✨

The sand is always soft and cool and doesn’t stick to you the way most sands do — it’s bizarre and heavenly, and if you are a soul that appreciates a good spot for frolicking, as I do, it’s well worth a visit. I’m so glad we got to go back. 🤍

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - The last two months have been a whirlwind, but we’re finally (mostly) moved into our new house, and so happy to be here. I can’t wait for things to settle down a bit more so that I can get my hands in the dirt and start our new garden. Having so much space and so much sunshine to grow in is truly a dream come true (in so many ways). 🌻

In the meantime, I’m so happy to share that I’ve become a partner with @sondeflor ! I absolutely love the beautiful online community they have built (I’ve found so many inspiring women by following them), and their commitment to sustainability to putting goodness and kindness in the world.

In April, they hosted a #5WEARS challenge, and I’ve loved seeing the myriad of lovely, creative ways folks can style one staple linen piece. 🌿

Life has been moving so fast lately that it’s taken me until the last day of April, but I wanted to share some of the ways I’ve styled my terracotta pinafore dress. (I’d love to hear which one is your favorite!)

Be on the lookout for their upcoming Mother’s Day Sale, running May 1st-8th. ♥️

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - “Angel, however, saw her light summer gown, and he spoke; his low tones reaching her, though he was some distance off.

‘What makes you draw off in that way, Tess?’ said he. ‘Are you afraid?’
‘Oh no, sir ... not of outdoor things; especially just now when the apple-blooth is falling, and everything is so green.’
‘But you have your indoor fears--eh?’
‘Well--yes, sir.’
‘What of?’
‘I couldn't quite say.’
‘The milk turning sour?’
‘No.’
‘Life in general?’
‘Yes, sir.’
‘Ah--so have I, very often. This hobble of being alive is rather serious, don't you think so?’”

- Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Thomas Hardy ♥️

Somehow October is here, and I have to finally admit that Summer is over, but I’ll be savoring these warm, wonderful days spent exploring the Rockies and the High Plains with @joeyciccoline for as long as possible.

P.S. my beloved @sondeflor is celebrating its 5th birthday with a flash sale today! Link in my bio! 💕

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - Joey and I drove across the country for 2 weeks this Summer, and out of all of the beautiful things we saw and the breathtaking places we got to experience — visiting @stubbzzz in Ohio was such a highlight. ♥️

I don’t think very many people could endure what he has gone through the past few years and yet remain such an incredibly kind, thoughtful, brilliant, compassionate human and artist (swipe to hear one of his beautiful songs 🥲).

@stubbzzz we are so lucky to know you!! Thanks for letting us show up on your doorstep at 11pm, making us tea, the spontaneous guitar lesson, letting me play with your fancy pedal board, and regaling us with so many good stories. We’ll cherish these memories forever. 💕

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - Thank you so much for the kind words of birthday love encouragement yesterday — they truly meant so much. 🥹♥️

This was a year of monumental and unexpected and wonderful changes. (Adopting this little backyard urchin was one of the sweetest twists and turns my life took this year, hehehe 🥰)

Our first pet, our first house (together), and now, this very weekend, we’re launching @in.the.firelight — which would not have been possible without so much support collaboration from so many dear, brilliant people that I love. I am grateful, and nervous, and excited to see this little fledgling begin to take flight tomorrow. 🙈

These are only some of the highlights, of course. There was struggle, and discontent, and grief interwoven throughout this year too. And yet, it’s comforting somehow to know that this is how it is meant to be — this is what it is to be human — and we are “built to live simultaneously in love and loss, bitter and sweet.”

There is no one I would rather live it all with than you, @joeyciccoline — the bitter and the sweet ♥️

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - “Within the grip of winter, it is almost impossible to imagine the spring. The gray perished landscape is shorn of color. Only bleakness meets the eye; everything seems severe and edged. Winter is the oldest season; it has some quality of the absolute. Yet beneath the surface of winter, the miracle of spring is already in preparation; the cold is relenting; seeds are wakening up. Colors are beginning to imagine how they will return. Then, imperceptibly, somewhere one bug opens and the symphony of renewal is no longer reversible. From the black heart of winter a miraculous, breathing plenitude of color emerges.

The beauty of nature insists on taking its time. Everything is prepared. Nothing is rushed. The rhythm of emergence is a gradual slow beat always inching its way forward; change remains faithful to itself until the new unfolds in the full confidence of true arrival. Because nothing is abrupt, the beginning of spring nearly always catches us unawares. It is there before we see it; and then we can look nowhere without seeing it.” - John O’Donohue

Happy Winter Solstice, dear, beloved ones. I hope this one finds you cozy, and safe, and hopeful ♥️

A ((very)) belated post to celebrate @joeyciccoline — whose birthday was a couple of weeks ago! I deeply cherish the gift of navigating the “ocean crossing” of life with such a kind & wonderful & thoughtful soul. I love you 🥰🌿

Emily Marie Palmer Instagram - If you haven’t been invested in the Heathcliff Saga, scroll on by — but if you want a very long but very joyful update… here it is. 🐾

One sunny morning last August, we went out to water our garden and were met by a tiny stray kitten. He marched right toward us, meowing the saddest little meow you’ve ever heard. The grass hardly seemed to bend under his meager weight — which the vet later told us was only 1/2 pound. 🥺

I named the little backyard urchin Heathcliff, and now I will never again listen to Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights without thinking of those tender, happy Summer days spent nursing this little creature back to health — taking him out on all my garden walks, and letting him sleep in the palm of my hand while I worked. 🥹

From the beginning though, I knew that keeping him was not an option. @joeyciccoline is highly allergic to cats, as are multiple close relatives of ours that we love to host in our home. Even if that weren’t the case, we sometimes have to travel often, and we worried about who we could rely on to care for him. 💔

Fast forward to January. Thanks to the sweet generosity of amazing friends, we had a forever home lined up for little Heathcliff… but things suddenly changed when my highly-cat-allergic sister came to visit. Imagine our surprise when she had ZERO reaction to Heathcliff. We realized that alllllll the allergies Joey had been having off and on had been completely unrelated to him. Somehow this little baby cat that turned up in our yard and stole our hearts ALSO turned out to be a miracle low allergen kitty. 😵

If that was not enough, our dear friend @beckalyn5 has become his beloved home away from home, so we know he’ll be safe loved whenever we need to be away.

I know this is a rather long explanation of a rather tiny miracle… but so many of you have been so sweet about following the journey of our little Heathcliff, and I wanted to let you know how things turned out.

So, it’s official. Heathcliff/Phantom/Ol’ Longbody Ciccoline… welcome to the family! 🥰♥️

Deepest thanks to everyone who gathered last night at Christ Church Cathedral to hold the Ukrainian people in the light, to pray for them, and to take actions and make donations on their behalf.

Thank you @ananakaye @rosemaryfossee @conniechornuk @coleslivka @dr.duende @meganpalm for leading us in this beautiful song. In times of darkness and grief, gathering and singing together feels like a kind of protest of its own. ♥️

You all make this show such a complete delight. 🥹

@martinkove you are a true gentleman, and just so wonderful to work with. Honored to have shared this day and this very special scene with you. ♥️

And shoutout to @franzvon @rachelguilfoylevaughan for Betsy’s beautiful costume design — I love it so much!! 🥲🍓

Emily Marie Palmer - 0.9K Likes - Joey got some film developed and it feels like a little secret doorway back into some very dear memories from this year.

And this first one here, this one in the checkered sweater — Joey snapped it a couple weeks ago to finish out the roll of film, and said it turned out to be his favorite one of all of them. ☺️ What a beautiful life. This year was not at all what I thought it would be when I first ventured into it on January 1st, and I would be lying if I told you that I have not had to grieve that a little — that year that I thought I would have — but it has been full of such love and so much goodness, and I am deeply grateful. 💕

Of heroes who died at 23;

A simple life’s a mystery to me

And then came you, unexpectedly

To feed all that’s good and true in me.” ♥️

Sharing a few of those little moments and calling it #FolkSongFriday - swipe to listen 🙃

Emily Marie Palmer - 613 Likes - On Monday I turned thirty and crossed the threshold into a new decade of life ✨

Emily Marie Palmer - 511 Likes - The last two months have been a whirlwind, but we’re finally (mostly) moved into our new house, and so happy to be here.

(I’d love to hear which one is your favorite!) Be on the lookout for their upcoming Mother’s Day Sale, running May 1st-8th. ♥️ #sondeflor #partner #sustainablefashion #5WEARS #cottagecore

Emily Marie Palmer - 511 Likes - The last two months have been a whirlwind, but we’re finally (mostly) moved into our new house, and so happy to be here. I can’t wait for things to settle down a bit more so that I can get my hands in the dirt and start our new garden. Having so much space and so much sunshine to grow in is truly a dream come true (in so many ways). 🌻

Emily Marie Palmer - 500 Likes - “Angel, however, saw her light summer gown, and he spoke; his low tones reaching her, though he was some distance off.

Emily Marie Palmer - 487 Likes - Joey and I drove across the country for 2 weeks this Summer, and out of all of the beautiful things we saw and the breathtaking places we got to experience — visiting @stubbzzz in Ohio was such a highlight.

Emily Marie Palmer - 469 Likes - Thank you so much for the kind words of birthday love encouragement yesterday — they truly meant so much.

And yet, it’s comforting somehow to know that this is how it is meant to be — this is what it is to be human — and we are “built to live simultaneously in love and loss, bitter and sweet.” There is no one I would rather live it all with than you, @joeyciccoline — the bitter and the sweet ♥️

Palmer has a directness about her that’s appealing, as well as a natural sweetness that’s much needed within the film’s harsh landscape.”

Emily Marie Palmer - 345 Likes - If you haven’t been invested in the Heathcliff Saga, scroll on by — but if you want a very long but very joyful update… here it is.

Caption : If you haven’t been invested in the Heathcliff Saga, scroll on by — but if you want a very long but very joyful update… here it is. 🐾 One sunny morning last August, we went out to water our garden and were met by a tiny stray kitten. He marched right toward us, meowing the saddest little meow you’ve ever heard. The grass hardly seemed to bend under his meager weight — which the vet later told us was only 1/2 pound. 🥺 I named the little backyard urchin Heathcliff, and now I will never again listen to Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights without thinking of those tender, happy Summer days spent nursing this little creature back to health — taking him out on all my garden walks, and letting him sleep in the palm of my hand while I worked. 🥹 From the beginning though, I knew that keeping him was not an option. @joeyciccoline is highly allergic to cats, as are multiple close relatives of ours that we love to host in our home. Even if that weren’t the case, we sometimes have to travel often, and we worried about who we could rely on to care for him. 💔 Fast forward to January. 😵 If that was not enough, our dear friend @beckalyn5 has become his beloved home away from home, so we know he’ll be safe loved whenever we need to be away.

What you do matters.
