Folake Olowofoyeku Instagram - This was my source of inspiration for Abishola's hairstyle: Baby Fo!

As a child, I despised having my hair touched and would cry for hours!

In Junior Secondary school, we were mandated to wear a different hairstyle each week, or face punishment. I vowed never to braid my hair again after i graduated.

Little did I know, it was all research for my character, Abishola. I hadn't realized that sitcom characters are meant to remain unchanged over time, so the iconic and controversial hairstyle will endure far beyond me!

What a journey! I love Abishola so much!! She's truly become a part of me, from the inspiration behind her hairstyle to the evolution of her character. It's been an incredible half a decade ride!

Folake Olowofoyeku Instagram - Every single moment of this journey has been pure JOY! “Mufasa: The Lion King”, is more than a dream come true; it’s a blessing I’ll cherish forever. 💫

Also, a historic moment as my character #Amara, the albino lion villain with blue eyes, is the first-ever character in the “Lion King” franchise to speak with a Nigerian accent; a milestone I’m so proud to bring to life. Thank you, Disney, for welcoming me into this incredible family. My heart is full. 🦁💙✨

Still pinching myself; hopping around the world for a movie I love so deeply feels like magic, and being in London, a city that holds so many cherished childhood memories with my family, makes it all the more special. Grateful beyond words. 🙏🏾🦁✨

Folake Olowofoyeku Instagram - 2024 will go down as one of the most challenging and rewarding years of my life. Loss, tears, fears, growth, courage, letting go, and so much love. This year taught me to honor boundaries, redefine friendships, and reconnect with the intuition that’s guided me so thoroughly.

✨ Bob ❤️ Abishola: Five groundbreaking years as the first Nigerian to play a Nigerian on U.S. primetime TV. One of the most rewarding experiences of my life, opening doors and opportunities that once felt like distant dreams. A journey filled with literal and figurative deaths, births, and rebirths. Surprising challenges revealed much about human nature but strengthened my resolve and deepened my commitment to my craft. While this chapter has closed, the show lives on in syndication, airing five days a week in the U.S., across global markets, and even on your favorite flights. My love and gratitude to everyone, especially Chuck Lorre—thank you for believing in me. ❤️

✨ Partial relocation and two transformative months in Bali, surrounded by my happy places: animals, nature, warm oceans, and large bodies of water. A time of healing, recharging, and reconnecting with myself.

✨ Other travels enriched my spirit: the Bahamas, Canary Islands, Portugal, New York, Los Angeles, London, and beyond. Every journey a reminder of how much there is to see, learn, and appreciate in this beautiful world.

✨ Mufasa: The Lion King: Playing Amara, a complex villain and sister to the character played by one of my favorite actors, Mads Mikkelsen. Another first as the first Nigerian voice in the franchise, representing my country in this iconic production.

✨ Released new music, “Bobble”, and returned to the stage with my band after years away. 🎶 Realigning with my purpose. 💫

To the old and new friends and partners who showed up in unexpected, beautiful ways—thank you! Your belief in me has exceeded my expectations, and I’m so grateful. To everyone who supported and cheered me on this year, you mean the world to me.

I look forward to sharing my full story with you in 2025. 💫 What a journey. What a story.

Here’s to even bigger dreams and meaningful moments in 2025. Let’s go! 💛🙏🏾

Let’s go! 💛🙏🏾

Folake Olowofoyeku Instagram - Happy Easter from Baby Fo & my dapper Father! 🕊️
Folake Olowofoyeku Instagram - To kick of this year’s New York Fashion Week, it was an immense honor to meet so many inspiring women at the @GoRedforWomen #RedDressCollection concert.

It was wonderful revisiting my modeling days, being back on the runways of Manhattan, cat-walking to a live performance by @SherylCrow and all for such an impactful cause!

I learned that music can be used to help save a life. Songs 100 to 120 BPM can help you keep the beat when performing chest compressions for CPR. #OurHearts

Please support @american_heart and @goredforwomen for the amazing work they are doing!! ❤️

Folake Olowofoyeku - 22.7K Likes - This was my source of inspiration for Abishola's hairstyle: Baby Fo!

Folake Olowofoyeku - 10.7K Likes - Every single moment of this journey has been pure JOY!

Folake Olowofoyeku - 5.6K Likes - 2024 will go down as one of the most challenging and rewarding years of my life.

Let’s go! 💛🙏🏾

❤️ ✨ Partial relocation and two transformative months in Bali, surrounded by my happy places: animals, nature, warm oceans, and large bodies of water. 💫 To the old and new friends and partners who showed up in unexpected, beautiful ways—thank you! Let’s go! 💛🙏🏾

Let’s go! 💛🙏🏾

This year taught me to honor boundaries, redefine friendships, and reconnect with the intuition that’s guided me so thoroughly. ✨ Bob ❤️ Abishola: Five groundbreaking years as the first Nigerian to play a Nigerian on U.S. primetime TV. Folake Olowofoyeku - 4K Likes - To kick of this year’s New York Fashion Week, it was an immense honor to meet so many inspiring women at the @GoRedforWomen #RedDressCollection concert.

Folake Olowofoyeku - 4K Likes - To kick of this year’s New York Fashion Week, it was an immense honor to meet so many inspiring women at the @GoRedforWomen #RedDressCollection concert.

It was wonderful revisiting my modeling days, being back on the runways of Manhattan, cat-walking to a live performance by @SherylCrow and all for such an impactful cause!
