Gray Benko Instagram - Lately my house is feeling like a maze of color and I’m not even mad about it 💫
Gray Benko Instagram - I have been spiraling over how to announce this so I’m just going to pull the cord and do it already. You may or may not have noticed that I haven’t been as active on this platform as usual. Well that is because, since June, we have been filming our new show for the @magnolianetwork , Happy to be Home with the Benkos! I am so excited to finally be able to share the news today!
Thank you to @magnolianetwork and @joannagaines for taking a chance on us. Thank you to our incredible show runner and EP @ashleywilliamsallen and our EP @buckrossproductions, for all of the endless hours of hard work and dedication, and for our crew who have become like family along the way (@chelcieeastman, @dynesmedia , @orangeandbroad, @thnorton, @therussnorton, but you know who you are). And thank you to @benkoman and my dad for agreeing to be a part of this crazy journey with me 🙃 This has been the most fun, challenging, and rewarding 8 months and I cannot wait to share our show with you in the Spring! More to come soon!

Gray Benko Instagram - Yesterday the most incredible / largest / pinkest / softest sectional I have ever seen arrived and I don’t think I will ever stand again. Thank you SO much @celadonhome for being so incredible to work with and for making sure this arrived just in time for Christmas. My Christmas/ life is made.
Gray Benko Instagram - When we first moved into this house, I always dreamed of seeing it blanketed in a cloud of white at Christmastime. I also thought this would be my forever home. I spent the time that we had here making it our own. I poured so much of myself into every aspect of it’s design. So many hours peering through the wavy glass from my favorite perch in the living room. It’s 200 year old walls became my friends; it’s ghost stories felt like family. The time we spent here was full of laughter and tears, celebrations and heartbreaks. I watched my children grow here. I loved them so hard here. So many memories will be left behind. Some beautiful and some painful, but mostly beautiful. I will miss so many things about this place. I’ll miss the cozy nights spent cuddled up with my babies in front of the fire. I’ll miss the old oak tree in the corner of the property (I’ve heard it told that it’s the second oldest living thing this side of The Mississippi) and that peaceful illusion that walking into the back yard creates, like you’re all alone in the world. I’ll miss the old fig tree in the side yard that bore so much incredible fruit for us over the years. I’ll miss the way the floor boards creak beneath my feet. I’ll miss my amazing neighbors who have loved us so well. I’ll miss the sounds of my children playing in the pool. This house was so much more than just a house to me and it will forever have my heart. However, I know it’s time to move on. The kids and I are starting a new chapter next month and I have to believe it will be even more beautiful than the last one. I’m so thankful for the time we have had here and so glad I finally got to see it blanketed in snow 🤍

Gray Benko Instagram - My favorite Fall skirt from @shopmille , three ways 💫

Side note, my 14-year-old told me I’m embarrassing her because this song was trending WEEKS ago. I can’t wait to see how she feels when she gets to 22 seconds in 👀💁🏻‍♀️

Gray Benko Instagram - I have had so many people messaging me and asking when I am going to share photos of whatever amazing new historic home I decided to buy. The truth is that this house is far from that. This is a brand new house with white walls, an open floor plan, builder grade everything, and ceiling fans (gasp). This house is also the beginning of a new chapter for me. This house is me getting back on my feet. This house is a pause. A chance for me to catch my breath and exhale for a while. This house is most likely temporary but I am going to try my very best to make it my own. It’s also half the size of my old house and has exactly zero shelves so trying to stuff all of our belongings inside of it has been interesting (as demonstrated in this photo). I am beyond exhausted, my shoes are still somewhere in the pile of boxes and bags in the garage, I’m pretty sure I lost all of Charlie’s clothes in the move, but I have my babies and I have my pink sofa, so I am home 🏠 ❤️
Gray Benko Instagram - I have been so excited to share my bathroom renovation with y’all! The bathroom was one of the last rooms that we touched since purchasing this home 4.5 years ago. It was an eye sore from the beginning and brought me zero joy. By the time I got around to redoing it, the shower door had completely fallen off and I was using a tension rod with a shower curtain to keep the water from getting all over the floor. When I made the decision to finally renovate it, the number one thing I wanted was to have a bathroom that brought be joy. And boy did I achieve that 😂 It’s still not finished (is anything really ever finished)? I need to work on hanging some more art and I am still holding until I am able to afford my dream bathtub someday (see the last slide) but it is INSANE the way this bathroom has already been transformed. It makes me so so happy. Scroll through to see the before pictures!

HUGE shout out to @fireclaytile who worked tirelessly with me to help my vision come to life. Their handmade tiles are so beautiful and so colorful. They really were a dream partnership for me! We work with them on the show a lot too; they are just so wonderful to work with. I also want to mention @creggercompany who helped me with all of my beautiful @newportbrass fixtures. Plumbing fixtures are not my strong suit so it was really wonderful to have some hand holding in that department!

What do you think? Could you bathe every day in a rainbow of color or is it just me? 😂🌈

Gray Benko Instagram - If you’ve been watching our show on @magnolianetwork , you may have seen the episode where we went back to my dad’s childhood home to collect the bedroom furniture, art, and all of the many knick-knacks that he grew up with. Charlie has this cute little room of of his bedroom that I have dubbed his “sleepover room”. Although none of his friends will ever sleep in it because they think it’s too scary (one of the stipulations that come with living in a 200 year old house). The room was really meant to be an ode to my dad and the time period when he grew up, complete with the old relics on full display, that I found stuffed in his bedroom drawers. He’s probably going to be mad that I just called his things relics. Anywho, if you watch the episode, then you will also know that I gave the room a fishing theme as a way to poke a little fun at him because one time I found an old fishing scrapbook that he made, where he cut out magazine and newspaper images of fathers fishing with their sons. My dad has always been a terrible fisherman and he told me that he made that scrapbook one day because he had always longed for his dad to teach home how to fish, but he never would. So I proceeded to give this entire room a fishing theme, from the fishing lure wallpaper by @abnormalsanonymous, to the fishing net-reminiscent light by @straydogdesigns. I even had @benkoman hand carve and paint a fish for me to mount the light fixture on. Well, the day of filming rolls around and Grumpy decides to wait until the cameras are rolling to tell me that the entire story was made up. It was a school project and he’s always hated fishing. So, I guess the joke was on me. As usual. At least I got a cute room out of it. The lesson here? Grumpy is not to be trusted.

Gray Benko Instagram - Heaven has gained an incredible angel. We lost my sweet Granny one week ago, yesterday, and the world just does not seem quite the same. So grateful that we were able to call her ours. I love you Granny, “always have and always will”. 🤍🤍🤍

Gray Benko Instagram - Personal post because I need this one to live in the feed 🥹❤️ My baby girl went to her very first homecoming dance over the weekend and I just can’t believe how beautiful and grown up she is becoming. It happens so fast, guys 😭 Farris did my makeup for a Halloween party and then got herself all dolled up for homecoming in the same night. I kind of love that I will forever be randomly dressed as a cat in her first homecoming photos.

Gray Benko Instagram - Yesterday my left rear tire blew out on the interstate. The wonderful man from road side assistance who came to help us said that it was a miracle that my car didn’t go into a tail spin. It dawned on me that what happened yesterday is actually a pretty great representation of what 2025 has felt like to me so far. I thought I would share this with you, in case you have been feeling similarly. I went into this year with my head held high, thinking that this was my year, this was going to be a GOOD year. Being a single mother to a teenager and a preteen, while also trying to maintain a business, life QUICKLY put me in check. If I’m being honest, it feels like I’ve been white-knuckling it through these last couple of months, trying desperately to not let life go into a tail spin. Life is like that sometimes, right? When things are hard, the hard things keep coming. And 2025 has been HARD. But in all of the chaos, I’m also learning to slow down and look for the good. Like my friend Allie who showed up, no questions asked, to hold Farris’s and my hands on a difficult day and ride with us to Charlotte. Like the kind man from road side assistance who showed up, changed our tire, and followed us until we got off of the interstate to make sure we were safe. And even like myself, who somehow managed to keep calm and safely guide us through four lanes of traffic while our tire was violently exploding. I’m working to trust myself and my own instincts, which is not always an easy thing to do. All this to say, although life can be hard, and sometimes it can feel like the hard keeps coming, remember to slow down and look for the helpers. And, maybe most of all, remember to keep both hands on the wheel and remind yourself how capable you really are ❤️

Gray Benko Instagram - It’s taken me a while to share the images from our season finale but it was truly one of my favorite projects. This home will always have a special place in my heart because it used to belong to my dear friend @laurensouthdown and the new owner @themintgardener is just a peach of a human. I can only hope that we did them both proud. Thank you to all of our partners who helped bring this one to fruition, including @meganmcwil who pulled out her secret chandelier painting skills in the 9th hour ✨

If you aren’t caught up yet, all episodes are now steaming on MAX! @magnolianetwork #happytobehome

Gray Benko Instagram - I was born 43 years ago today ✨ 42 was simultaneously one of the hardest and one of the best years of my life. I learned so much about myself and I grew more in one year than I ever thought possible. I can’t wait to see what 43 has in store ❤️
Gray Benko Instagram - Because who says we can’t make every day chores a vibe? Kids. Laundry. Work. Repeat. There’s a little @boden_clothing for every day of the week. (I’m a poet and I didn’t know it). Link to everything I’m wearing in my bio!
Gray Benko Instagram - There are few things I love more than decorating our house for the holidays. Last year I really slacked in the decorating department and apparently my children noticed it so, after having the guilt knife twisted firmly into my back by Charlie, I made the only logical choice and decided to go all out this year, even if it means devoting the next three months to exclusively decorating and un-decorating our house 😂 honestly though I had so much fun doing this and it so much easier to accomplish then it looks! Comment PUMPKINS below to receive a DM with a link for everything you need to create the same look for your house. There’s also a pumpkin tutorial saved in my story highlights that you might find helpful. It was really simple to do and we (along with everyone on our street) have really been enjoying all of the fun/spooky/festive vibes 👻🎃

Gray Benko Instagram - We were recently lucky enough to work on one of the most iconic homes in our town, The Elizabeth Arden Home. The third floor, which was once an attic space, allowed us to make some really fun design choices and I could not have been more pleased with the results! That blue bunk room with the @mollymahonblockprinting fabric and painted floors has my heart. Downstairs, in the formal entryway, the home owner really wanted a metallic wallpaper and @wallpaperie was able to create a beautiful custom chinoiserie for us. And the icing on the cake, as always, was my all time favorite @straydogdesigns coming in hot with the incredible papier-mâché light fixtures. I hope you were able to catch the episode and enjoyed it as much as we did (house fire and all 😱).

New episode out tonight on @magnolianetwork !

Gray Benko Instagram - So incredibly thankful for all of the amazing mothers in my life. And equally as thankful for the two little rug rats who made me one 💫 I feel like I won the lottery with this crew.

I’m partial to the laundry room but I could also live in that yellow room and be very very happy 💫 @magnolianetwork @joannagaines @chelcieeastman

Gray Benko - 8.5K Likes - I have been spiraling over how to announce this so I’m just going to pull the cord and do it already.
Gray Benko - 7.1K Likes - When we first moved into this house, I always dreamed of seeing it blanketed in a cloud of white at Christmastime.

Side note, my 14-year-old told me I’m embarrassing her because this song was trending WEEKS ago. I can’t wait to see how she feels when she gets to 22 seconds in 👀💁🏻‍♀️

Gray Benko - 5.8K Likes - I have had so many people messaging me and asking when I am going to share photos of whatever amazing new historic home I decided to buy.

Gray Benko - 4.9K Likes - I have been so excited to share my bathroom renovation with y’all!

Gray Benko - 4.8K Likes - If you’ve been watching our show on @magnolianetwork , you may have seen the episode where we went back to my dad’s childhood home to collect the bedroom furniture, art, and all of the many knick-knacks that he grew up with.

Bedding by @annieselke

Gray Benko - 3.7K Likes - Personal post because I need this one to live in the feed 🥹❤️ My baby girl went to her very first homecoming dance over the weekend and I just can’t believe how beautiful and grown up she is becoming. It happens so fast, guys 😭 Farris did my makeup for a Halloween party and then got herself all dolled up for homecoming in the same night. I kind of love that I will forever be randomly dressed as a cat in her first homecoming photos.

Gray Benko - 3.4K Likes - Yesterday my left rear tire blew out on the interstate.

Gray Benko - 3.4K Likes - It’s taken me a while to share the images from our season finale but it was truly one of my favorite projects.

Gray Benko - 3.3K Likes - We were recently lucky enough to work on one of the most iconic homes in our town, The Elizabeth Arden Home.
