Hilary Swank Instagram - Happy Holidays to you all ✨ So grateful for this community. Wishing everyone a restful and restorative time, as best as possible anyway, as we all navigate all we juggle. Feeling so connected to all the caregivers out there who keep so many balls in the air and have little time for themselves. As well as anyone navigating loss in any way. Grieving is hard work, especially this time of year. Massive love to you all 🙌🏼🤍
Hilary Swank Instagram - This past year was a big one for me and I know for so many of us. I have been off my phone and social media for a couple months due to a tremendous personal loss. In October, my Dear Dad, made his transition to the other side. I had a rather unique relationship with him as I was his sole caretaker after a lung transplant seven years ago. I grew incredibly close to him during this time, deepening our relationship and savoring every moment we had together. He will always remain one of my most favorite persons and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him. But in this physical loss, as devastating as it is, I was awakened to the truest sense of living again. It helped me better understand the circle of life and where we come from and where we go back to, which has connected me back to my truest self. It helped me forgive, to move past the things that hold me back, in whatever form that takes each day. As well as being deeply connected to the Ultimate Source and therefore, my Dad, always. This last year I hope whatever trials and tribulations you all have had on your life journey bring you closer to your truest essence and help guide you into this New Year with whatever blessings you most need. We are all in this together. I love you all and am grateful for this community. 🙌🏽 Peace and Many Blessings to you, in all the forms they may come. ✨ #HappyNewYear 🙌🏽 #ILoveYouDad 💗#Forever 💫

Hilary Swank Instagram - I’m truly exhausted by the way women’s ovarian and cyclical health issues continue to be treated by healthcare insurance companies. I have experienced it in my own life, and I continually read about it across social media and in the press. Their policies are antiquated, barbaric and primarily view the role of women's organs solely as a means for procreation. My hope is to create change for all woman suffering from women’s health issues that have to battle with insurance companies who diminish the significance of their problems, don’t believe the patient (or their doctor's) explanations surrounding their suffering, and severely preclude coverage to only incredibly limited services and procedures. It’s painful enough having to deal with the nature of a female health issue, let alone having to wrestle with the stress of trying to get your insurance company to provide the coverage and care that their contract explicitly states they offer. After years of experiencing my own health issues and the ensuing denials from my healthcare company for services that are medically proven to preserve my life, and seeing how expensive this is to support without the help of an insurance company, I decided to speak up. Based on what I learned, I know that most women can’t afford the medical treatments necessary to cover simple female health issues. I can only assume they either financially deplete their resources, or they forgo the treatments, quietly suffering in pain and risking their lives. My hope is to be a voice for them. SAG / AFTRA Healthplan claim they treat and protect all of their members equally. I don’t believe this is true. If you’re a woman suffering from female health issues, I have no doubt you’ll agree with me. If you’re a man, ask your mother, your daughter, your sister, or a girl friend. I already know the answer. I’m suing SAG / AFTRA Healthplan. It’s time we are treated fairly.

This past month I have mostly been offline protecting my own peace, grounding myself in the midst of this madness, this sadness. This enormous collective mourning… The pain, is heavy to carry even when it’s not directly our own. We are all impacted. While it’s expected of each of us, it’s not normal to carry on as if it’s business as usual. Its disregulating to turn on the tv or social media and see lifeless bodies and innocent wounded civilians on our screens. Innocent lives lost are not casualties, but tragedies. I am sad for my beloveds who have lost family members. I am overwhelmed by the rise of hate crimes, Islamophobia, and Anti-Semitism. I am forlorn for our children who live in a world like this, during a time like this. Who have we become? If you are not able to sleep and your mind is racing as you think about the innocent people dying, you are not alone. If you are terrified and feel a sense of impending doom, you are not alone. If you feel angry and helpless at the same time, you’re not alone. If you can’t bring yourself to watch the one more news update, you’re not alone. If you find yourself sucked into the rabbit hole of social media and it’s making you more upset, you are not alone. Take a moment to breathe… Remember that we are designed to morn, grieve and process our pain. We are meant to grieve in community. Please find spaces to process your grief - we are not designed to simply push through. Mind your nervous system and tap into the well of emotion. We need to feel because feeling protects us loosing our humanity. Our humanity is all we have. Remember that you belong to community, you are a loved one. We are witnessing people’s loved ones being killed and lives upended. Who have we become? Each of us has a scared mandate on our hearts to create a legacy of peace. We can not forsake the children, the elders, the pregnant women, the innocent people. We can not pretend what we are living through is normal. Remember to breathe, mend your heart but keep it tender. And I’m gonna be honest, I never understood them, I always thought “get over it, it’s just a spider, etc. walk away.” Until l, of course myself, became severely claustrophobic. To the point my entire body broke out in sweat and I was drenched within 30 seconds and my face looked like a very ripe tomato...and I almost passed out while trying on my finished spacesuit and helmet for the first time. It is not just mental, it is very physical. BUT, our mental minds do control a lot, if not everything. After six months, I was not able to overcome my claustrophobia, but I was able to come to a type of meeting of the minds with it. When we calm our minds and sit with the fear, NOT try and push it away, we can sit with it in a different way, that makes it “doable”. Playing an astronaut in AWAY made me push into the sharp edges in a way I never thought it would. This was such an important lesson for me...in so many ways. I hope that in sharing this you might feel less alone in whatever it is that takes over your mind and therefore body. Be patient with yourself. #WeAreNeverInThisAlone #Away

I have experienced it in my own life, and I continually read about it across social media and in the press. Their policies are antiquated, barbaric and primarily view the role of women's organs solely as a means for procreation. My hope is to create change for all woman suffering from women’s health issues that have to battle with insurance companies who diminish the significance of their problems, don’t believe the patient (or their doctor's) explanations surrounding their suffering, and severely preclude coverage to only incredibly limited services and procedures. It’s painful enough having to deal with the nature of a female health issue, let alone having to wrestle with the stress of trying to get your insurance company to provide the coverage and care that their contract explicitly states they offer. After years of experiencing my own health issues and the ensuing denials from my healthcare company for services that are medically proven to preserve my life, and seeing how expensive this is to support without the help of an insurance company, I decided to speak up. Based on what I learned, I know that most women can’t afford the medical treatments necessary to cover simple female health issues. I can only assume they either financially deplete their resources, or they forgo the treatments, quietly suffering in pain and risking their lives. My hope is to be a voice for them. SAG / AFTRA Healthplan claim they treat and protect all of their members equally. I don’t believe this is true. If you’re a woman suffering from female health issues, I have no doubt you’ll agree with me. If you’re a man, ask your mother, your daughter, your sister, or a girl friend. I already know the answer. I’m suing SAG / AFTRA Healthplan. It’s time we are treated fairly.

Its disregulating to turn on the tv or social media and see lifeless bodies and innocent wounded civilians on our screens. Innocent lives lost are not casualties, but tragedies. I am sad for my beloveds who have lost family members. I am overwhelmed by the rise of hate crimes, Islamophobia, and Anti-Semitism. I am forlorn for our children who live in a world like this, during a time like this. Who have we become? If you are not able to sleep and your mind is racing as you think about the innocent people dying, you are not alone. If you are terrified and feel a sense of impending doom, you are not alone. If you feel angry and helpless at the same time, you’re not alone. If you can’t bring yourself to watch the one more news update, you’re not alone. If you find yourself sucked into the rabbit hole of social media and it’s making you more upset, you are not alone. Take a moment to breathe… Remember that we are designed to morn, grieve and process our pain. We are meant to grieve in community. Please find spaces to process your grief - we are not designed to simply push through. Mind your nervous system and tap into the well of emotion. We need to feel because feeling protects us loosing our humanity. Our humanity is all we have. Remember that you belong to community, you are a loved one. To the point my entire body broke out in sweat and I was drenched within 30 seconds and my face looked like a very ripe tomato...and I almost passed out while trying on my finished spacesuit and helmet for the first time. It is not just mental, it is very physical. BUT, our mental minds do control a lot, if not everything. After six months, I was not able to overcome my claustrophobia, but I was able to come to a type of meeting of the minds with it. When we calm our minds and sit with the fear, NOT try and push it away, we can sit with it in a different way, that makes it “doable”. Playing an astronaut in AWAY made me push into the sharp edges in a way I never thought it would. This was such an important lesson for me...in so many ways.
