Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨You’ve been so supportive and kind to me and I want to share more of what’s going on in my life…

I’m pregnant! 🎉

Starting a family is something @matttente and I have wanted for a very long time. Baby boy coming Feb 18th! 💙

I will say honestly that it’s been a challenge to lose my mom while becoming a mom. She was so unbelievably excited to be a grandma, but I am at least grateful that she knew he was on the way.

“How do you balance joy and grief?” is a question I often come back to. Complex emotions that swirl about these days.

Right now though, I’m just grateful for this beautiful baby growing in my belly and all your love and support. 🥰

I also want to say that if you are struggling to get pregnant or start a family of your own, I see you. I feel you. We sadly experienced pain and great loss on our journey to get here. I hope our joy can serve as inspiration to you and if you ever are feeling alone on your journey and want someone to lend an ear, feel free to drop me a line. 💛

Xoxo

PS. I did nothing to coordinate these pics on my fridge, but i just love that my mom is there joyfully celebrating him with us.

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨I forgot to tell you guys... grateful to share I booked & filmed a fun part on a new TV show a couple weeks ago!!! ✨ This is actually the outfit I wore for my audition - earrings & all. I can’t tell you how much wearing the right wardrobe helps me find the role. Plus, I firmly believe the right wardrobe helps producers buy into you as the choice even more! 🤩The costume designer ended up putting me in orange & navy! I mean... Coincidence, maybe? 🤔👚 👗 👠 👖 What kind of role do you think I played?? (I’ll tell you in 8 months when they finally drop the series! 🤪😂)✨ #grateful #actorslife #actorsrise ❤️

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨We welcomed our sweet boy Kingston Joseph Tente into the world on 2/19 at 8:49pm, weighing 7lbs 4oz & measuring 20 1/2 inches long. I truly don’t know how to share our absolute joy. We are over the moon in love. ❤️

✨He’s named Kingston after the town where @matttente & I met & where my family has lived in for generations. Joseph in honor of Matt’s dad, Dennis (his middle name), and for those of you who don’t know, my husband’s last name is Tente. 🤗

While he arrived via C-section, which wasn’t the plan, both of us are doing great!

Thanks to all in advance for the love & support. We are so grateful & so so happy xx . ❤️

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨Posting this selfie cause I got dressed for real and woke up at 6:30am to take an acting class on east coast time with a CD I’ve wanted to meet forever. ✨ Feels good to do things for myself & my career — not to mention to put on makeup & do my hair! 🤪💄 Don’t worry, I’ll be back in workout clothes shortly, followed quickly by sweats, wine & probably ice cream, but for now, I’m feeling good & it’s OK to celebrate a little feeling good in your life. Hope you can find something to feel good about today too! ✨💕 #hackyourquarantine #feelinggood #actorsrise
Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨Speechless. Wow. ✨
I never imagined I’d be featured in the @nytimes next to the likes of Andrew Lloyd Weber, The Black Theater Coalition & other inspiring artists & advocates. I just can’t quite believe this is real...

Thank you all for your support. There were so many people who stepped up & did so much for actors this year. I’ll share more on those folks soon!

I’m very grateful to be recognized in this way, but there is more work to do. Coming for you 2021! 🥰❤️✨ Full article link in my bio & link to subscribe. #actorsrise #actorsrisetogether #actorslife

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨One year ago today I sent the very first newsletter to 36 people - apparently only 32 people opened it (see slides - lol). I just can’t believe how much it’s grown & I’ve grown. 🌱 What a year it has been. ❤️

I made new friends
on Zoom
I worked out daily
then not at all
I wrote the newsletter.

I flew home
and took care of a family member
I cried
then laughed
I wrote the newsletter.

I waited 6 months
to film the final scene in a short
I booked a tv show
and wore a mask
I wrote the newsletter.

I felt overwhelmed
and underwhelmed
I watched you cry
Through a screen
I wrote the newsletter.

I found my voice
and anxiety
I tried to fix things
and failed
I wrote the newsletter.

You listened
I wrote the newsletter.
You read
I wrote the newsletter
and felt seen.
❤️

Thank you.

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - 🎉Congrats to all the whole team of On the Verge! It just dropped on @netflix yesterday so go check it out!

I had so much fun acting, but on the other side of the camera once again - playing a Casting Assistant. Did you know I actually was a real commercial casting assistant back in the day?!

It meant a lot to be a tiny part of this as it was in 2020 when we were still under pretty strict quarantine & I actually left my house & got to be surrounded by some awesome creatives. #winwin

Thank you to @mathieudemy for making filming so fun & thanks to the coolest co-star around the adorable & hilarious @official_kai_to! Also was so happy I got to meet & spend the day with the lovely @penelope_gil!

Loads of gratitude to @wobjaws2 for the opportunity to play! ✨

Check out On the Verge & lmk what you think, friends! ✨

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨Grateful that I’m empowered everyday by so many strong women in my life. 💪 Thanks for nominating me @shannonbillscoaching @annnorthernjones @heidi.schultz 💕 Just a reminder women can be smart, funny, crass, ridiculous, compassionate, strong, independent, flirtatious, emotional, sexual, wild, warm, silly & so much more all at the same time. ❤️ Pic by one of the best female empowerment advocates @beccamurrayphoto 😘#womenempowerment #femininity #challengeaccepted #womensupportingwomen

—————-UPDATE————-
I’ve since educated myself on the origin of this challenge & I hope you will too.

From what I understand it was started by women in Turkey as a response to them being frustrated over always seeing black and white photos of women who have been killed. The original Turkish hashtags referencing domestic violence and femicide were sadly dropped as the challenge gained momentum. Of course female empowerment (including womanx, trans & all who identify as female) is so important, but we must be aware of the original intent of these posts & help educate ourselves & others about the atrocities & violence happening to women across the globe.

———-Another UPDATE————
This challenge apparently did not originate with the Turkish women’s stories as I posted above, but regardless that’s all true & I am grateful to have learned more about what’s happening to women in Turkey & ways to support. It apparently originated with AOC’s remarks & has been used in the past for cancer awareness/support. Regardless, we womenx clearly needed it!
Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨Cat, computer, coffee... working on the newsletter! So grateful to have a sense of purpose night now, being able to support & connect with my actor community. Also, grateful for this cuddly guy, even though he wants all my attention all the time! What are you grateful for? ✨❤️😻 #actorsrise #actorslife #actorquarantine #catmom
Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ⭐️ Massive photo dump of so much joy last night celebrating the world premiere of @loveandbaseballmovie movie @danceswithfilms ❤️ & ⚾️Honored to have been a tiny part in this film.

It was such an AMAZING night cause I was surrounded by so many people in this business whom I absolutely adore and got to celebrate my friends’ beautiful film.

Incredibly proud of @tatehanyok and @acevedoreport for creating this movie. It made me cry - not surprisingly as Tate is just such a damn talented actor and the two of them are a dream team!

I got to take some pics on the carpet with my girl @itsmarisadavila, who also appears in the film, and my actor accountability buddy & superstar friend @rachelamandabryant. And I got to see & squeeze my pal @mandyjuneturpin who always inspires me with her producing & acting ventures!

I also so appreciated being supported by the hubs and my bestie @alovett9 - thanks for holding my things, staying up late and getting Pink’s hot dogs with me for the first time ever!

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - My mom, my memo as I called her when it was just the two of us, my everything, has passed.

She died peacefully on September 21st near midnight. Myself, her sister Karen and my husband Matt were holding her.

It is beyond agony to lose her.

It’s always been “Deb and Jenna”. Who will I be now without her?

My mom taught me to tie my shoes, drive a stick shift and to swear.

She drove me around to houses in the “nice neighborhood” saying, “and these people’s credit cards are maxed out and these people’s credit cards are maxed out. Don’t be fooled!”

In my teen years she told my girlfriends and I to, “F–boys!” – all we needed was each other.

She went to all my shows, drove me to “play practice”, as she called it, and supported my girly inclinations, even though she was a total tomboy herself – playing catcher on her women’s softball team for over 20 years.

My love of period pieces, dark chocolate, reading and people are all thanks to her.

My mom knew how to party – whether it was a costume party for Halloween or her yearly “empty lot” party where she served oysters and beer in solo cups. She was always down for a good time.

My mom also knew how to listen and to love – she was empathetic and kind. Volunteering to tutor a young girl in English who she’s kept in touch with for over 30 years, making phone calls for the dems and delivering meals for meals on wheels.

She was curious. Traveling all across the world on trips to Egypt, Turkey, Africa – and countries I had never heard of.

And boy did she have friends. She had more friends than anyone I know. Stopping to chat up the clerk in the checkout line or the driver of our taxi – mortifying me exchanging phone numbers with the person sitting on the plane next to her, and actually calling them and staying in touch for years.

She was defiant. She was stubborn. Didn’t listen to her dad as a teen or me years later when I tried to take away her keys. When she had to face doctors who gave her bad news, she fought.
And she made them laugh hysterically with her ridiculous antics and sassy comebacks.

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨2020 was a terrible year in so many ways. Our industry has struggled, but some industry members really stepped up and made actors feel seen, supported and loved.

The following list was compiled by actors in the Actors Rise FB group as well as a few additions from me.

To those on this list,
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

You made all the difference. ❤️

***Of course this is not a full list of everyone who supported actors so please tag someone below who you’d like to thank & follow these people and support them as they have certainly supported us!

Here’s to an incredible 2021! 🎉🥂

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨What a year… wishing you all the happiest of possible holidays this year! ❤️

While this is far from the usual holiday season, I still find joy when I think of how many people I have in my life to love and who love me. 🥰

I hope this year will teach us to appreciate our time together even more. You better watch out….next years hugs are gonna be off the charts!!!

For now, I’ll just be here in my jammies, listening to Christmas music, stuffing my face and smothering my cat.

PS. Swipe to see us failing to get a good picture with our Christmas kitty. 😻

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨I’m sore, exhausted & have a headache. We all have these days...

What self care looks like for me today is canceling things on my calendar❌, sitting here on the floor stretching🙆‍♀️, drinking water💦 ignoring my emails (sorry, friends! I will get back to you) & a NAP! 💤

I often feel like I’m on a hamster wheel & can’t catch up. People frequently comment that I do so much, am so organized & “have it all together”, but none of us really have it all together all the time (just ask my husband!) Am I generally high functioning? Yes. Do I often put my clients before myself? Sometimes. Am I learning that I can be the most important person in my day? Slowly. 🌱

✨Taking care of ourselves is a journey. We are always experiencing new challenges & striving to find our way through.

And don’t worry, I’m totally OK. I’m just sharing. 🤗

✨I’m curious, how do you practice self care? What makes you feel like you again? Drop it in the comments & when I check my phone wayyyy later today (cause I’m putting this thing away) I’ll be happy to have heard from you. 💜

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨Me looking at Covid cases spiking….🆘❌

No, but seriously. We just got back to work. I just got to finish this short @bossbabesfilm , which you see me pictured in here, cause we had to wait 5 months to film the final scene! 🤦‍♀️

This short meant so much to me cause it was all about collaborating with my friends (who are bananas talented btw) and telling a story that I believe in. ❤️

✨Being an actor never stops whether you can film or not, but I am telling you, it’s so much better for us when we can do what we love and perform. So, if you want more Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. Wear a mask, make safe choices, and I promise you, us creatives will keep making creepy dark cool wonderful hilarious ridiculous stuff for you. 🖤

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - Sooo I did a thing this weekend. 🤗

They say blondes have more fun, right?! Feeling fun. 😘

Also, good stylists are total magic. The change they can give you is so much more than what’s on the outside, but the confidence you get to walk out the door with. ❤️ (cc: @jessien615 who taught me that a long time ago 😘)

👉Swipe 2 for the basic brown before & 3 for some love.

Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨I needed this vacation. I needed to get out of town. To be outside. I hiked with my aunts in Sedona. It was relaxing. I was able to exhale. I didn’t realize how much I’d been holding in for so long.

I won’t lie… I sobbed sitting on my bathroom floor after coming home. I expected to be totally zen coming back, but that’s not at all what happened. It was like I’d been able to exhale, but all of the sudden I had to hold my breath again.

The stress started on my drive home...

Once back, I'd be quarantining away from my husband in case I’d gotten covid while out of town, restrictions were tightening as I was driving back to LA (there's now a curfew and no outdoor dining starting Wed). I also heard from my mom who said she definitely wasn’t going to come for Christmas (smart decision, but still sucked).

Woof. Lots to process.

So, I let myself cry in the bathroom. Then, I took some deep breaths and began to practice gratitude.

I am grateful for so many things. My health. My family. My friends. My clients. My career. Normal things, but things I am truly deeply grateful for and then I got into the nitty gritty of it...the book I’m reading, the podcast I discovered on my drive that made me laugh from deep inside all alone in the car, The Crown is back on, my cat was so happy to see me, I have space so that I CAN quarantine away from my husband, I actually got to have my wedding last year (2020 brides, I am so sorry), the stars that I got to see so clearly in Sedona…. and on and on…

It’s Thanksgiving week. It’s been a shitty year with some magic moments sprinkled in between. Let’s all work on allowing the feelings… cry if you need to get it out. Don’t hold your breath like I did. Also, remember those magic moments. ✨

Happy Thanksgiving, my friends. ❤️

What are you grateful for? ✨🙏
Jenna Doolittle Instagram - ✨Happy Caturday, my friends!✨
BUG & I have been realizing we need to relax more. (Well, I do. I’d say he’s a pro!) I’ve been putting way too much pressure on myself lately (can anyone relate?!) So, I’m working on finding calming moments & ways to chill out... creating a cozy environment for myself to just be. After staring at the computer for hours, hanging out with BUG definitely helps. How do you relax??? Do your pets calm you down too? 🐱 🐶❤️✨ #happycaturday #mentalhealthawareness
Jenna Doolittle Instagram - We laid my father-in-law Dennis Tente to rest today after a nearly two year battle with cancer.

A man I am grateful to have known since my teen years & who became so important to me.

Whether he was teasing me about not knowing how to properly use a baseball glove, indulging in a few too many drinks with me in Vegas or encouraging me in my business endeavors, he always made me feel important, loved & a part of the family.

We will miss you so, Dennis. ❤️

Joseph in honor of Matt’s dad, Dennis (his middle name), and for those of you who don’t know, my husband’s last name is Tente. 🤗 While he arrived via C-section, which wasn’t the plan, both of us are doing great! Thanks to all in advance for the love & support. We are so grateful & so so happy xx . ❤️

Jenna Doolittle - 847 Likes - ✨Posting this selfie cause I got dressed for real and woke up at 6:30am to take an acting class on east coast time with a CD I’ve wanted to meet forever.

Jenna Doolittle - 761 Likes - ✨One year ago today I sent the very first newsletter to 36 people - apparently only 32 people opened it (see slides - lol). I just can’t believe how much it’s grown & I’ve grown. 🌱 What a year it has been. ❤️

I made new friends
on Zoom
I worked out daily
then not at all
I wrote the newsletter.

I flew home
and took care of a family member
I cried
then laughed
I wrote the newsletter.

I waited 6 months
to film the final scene in a short
I booked a tv show
and wore a mask
I wrote the newsletter.

I felt overwhelmed
and underwhelmed
I watched you cry
Through a screen
I wrote the newsletter.

I found my voice
and anxiety
I tried to fix things
and failed
I wrote the newsletter.

You listened
I wrote the newsletter.
You read
I wrote the newsletter
and felt seen.
❤️

Thank you.

Jenna Doolittle - 646 Likes - 🎉Congrats to all the whole team of On the Verge!

Also was so happy I got to meet & spend the day with the lovely @penelope_gil! Loads of gratitude to @wobjaws2 for the opportunity to play! ✨ Check out On the Verge & lmk what you think, friends! ✨

Jenna Doolittle - 495 Likes - My mom, my memo as I called her when it was just the two of us, my everything, has passed.

Jenna Doolittle - 495 Likes - My mom, my memo as I called her when it was just the two of us, my everything, has passed.

Don’t be fooled!” In my teen years she told my girlfriends and I to, “F–boys!” – all we needed was each other. (Continued in comments)

Jenna Doolittle - 495 Likes - My mom, my memo as I called her when it was just the two of us, my everything, has passed.

She died peacefully on September 21st near midnight. Myself, her sister Karen and my husband Matt were holding her.

It is beyond agony to lose her.

It’s always been “Deb and Jenna”. Who will I be now without her?

Jenna Doolittle - 447 Likes - ✨2020 was a terrible year in so many ways.

Jenna Doolittle - 440 Likes - ✨What a year… wishing you all the happiest of possible holidays this year!

People frequently comment that I do so much, am so organized & “have it all together”, but none of us really have it all together all the time (just ask my husband!) Am I generally high functioning? Yes. Do I often put my clients before myself? Sometimes. Am I learning that I can be the most important person in my day? Slowly. 🌱 ✨Taking care of ourselves is a journey. We are always experiencing new challenges & striving to find our way through. And don’t worry, I’m totally OK. I’m just sharing. 🤗 ✨I’m curious, how do you practice self care? What makes you feel like you again? Drop it in the comments & when I check my phone wayyyy later today (cause I’m putting this thing away) I’ll be happy to have heard from you. 💜 • • • #selfcare #selflove #dayoff #headacheremedy #actorslife #actorsrise #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters

👉Color by @cameroncancholahair ❤️
👉Cut by @brecolehair ✂️

Jenna Doolittle - 402 Likes - ✨I needed this vacation.
