Kerry Butler Instagram - It’s our 500th performance of @beetlejuicebway And I won the prize for doing the most performances!!! I love winning things! Including our DC run I have done 550 performances of #beetlejuice!!!! I would like to thank my family for being okay with me being gone so much of the time🤪 And apologize to friends and family for all the big life events I have missed- but now you can see it was all to win this prize. 😂 Happy 500 shows to @beetlejuicebway
Kerry Butler Instagram - Sooo… I had the immense honor of playing Dolly Parton in the musical reading of her life! My friend @mariasschlatter asked me if I would be in a private reading for Dolly! At first I doubted that I could do it, she is so specific. But I followed my own advice and said yes, and did a deep dive into all things Dolly! Her music is obviously incredible, but beyond that she is such an amazing person. The things she has accomplished on and off stage- many things you don’t even hear about! What a role model!!! Who knows what happens with these readings that I do- this one didn’t even have a director yet. One year I was the lead in 5 new musical readings, I was replaced in all of them- and Xanadu(which I was nominated for a Tony) came back to me! My eye isn’t on the prize, it’s on stretching and growing as an artist, and planting the seeds for a career. During the pandemic I was pretending to be a ghost in Beetlejuice . And now after one of the largest natural disasters I am heading to perform in California. I kept thinking how can I help beyond raising money? And an opportunity fell into my lap (thank you @rosekemanuel ) We don’t think about all the theatre kids who in addition to losing homes, schools places they loved… also lost their theatres! I had this idea, and @segerstromarts was so generous and quick to help! The teachers while facing loss and devastation, have been channeling all their energy into making sure their shows goes on, and making something special for the kids. This is the one thing I know- theatre heals! Music heals us. Kerry Butler Instagram - I have many young followers and have been trying to be mindful of everyone’s mental health, and posting things that won’t trigger people. But taking action CAN HELP our mental health. Let’s turn our heartbreak into action. Most Americans support gun control. Any cameos I do over the next month I will donate the money to @everytown. If you don’t have extra money, just join #everytown - they give you many ways to volunteer- even calling senators from your home. We can’t lose hope. Together we CAN make a difference. Kerry Butler Instagram - When I was little I wanted to be a superstar, as I got older I just wanted to be a working actress. It may look like it has been easy, but there have been so many highs and lows. No matter your level it never ends. Creating this show with my friends is a career high! I am so proud of us! We did everything! From Marissa painting the vanities… to us all going to marketing meetings… and watching videos to check out blocking… creating social media… I have a new respect for producers! It is NON STOP! It feels so good knowing we are spreading joy. People laugh and cry at our show. We only have two more shows this Saturday. I didn’t want her to think I was making fun of her!! I LOVED her!! Once the show started I could see she was falling out of her seat laughing. She could not have been more kind or gracious, and said She couldn’t believe I got everything about her. 💕RIP #youaremagic

Kerry Butler Instagram - Daughter appreciation post: one day during the past two years I said to my daughters, “I’m so sorry for all the things you have missed during this time.” And my older daughter replied,”What do you mean? We all got to be together all the time.” I post a lot about how excited I am to be back at work, but I SO MISS being together with my family all the time. And I know it’s hard on them. They just had spring break and the show was in tech and rehearsals, my family did a staycation just so I could spend a little time with them. I wanted to post and say thanks for being so supportive and letting me go back to work. I love them SO MUCH, and am so proud of how brave and wonderful they have been through all this. They just had spring break and the show was in tech and rehearsals, my family did a staycation just so I could spend a little time with them.
