Kimberly McCullough Instagram - Learning more about the Chumash tribe (indigenous people of Ojai where I live and much of the Ca coast) has been my passion lately. Kimberly McCullough Instagram - Thank you for checking on us in Ojai. No joke- I was doing yoga on the deck, trying to calm myself from Hurricane anxiety. I settled into child’s pose and shake rattle and roll! My partner grabbed our son, I grabbed Jack and we all went in our front yard. Will never forget this day. #hurriquake #earthcane
Kimberly McCullough Instagram - My dearest LA family. My heart is breaking for you. Having been evacuated in the middle of the night during the start of the #ThomasFire in 2017 with a five month old, I have some information I’d like to share with you. I know how hard it can be to think straight when you’re scared for your life and feeling all of the devastation around you. This is for those who are being evacuated or leaving the area to get out of harms way. If you have time, BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOUSE, go around and make sure all of your windows are closed. When we left Ojai at 3am, there was a small bathroom window that was cracked open. The smoke that creeped into our house embedded itself in our walls, the insulation, every mattress and porous thing in our house and cost 30k in damage. Because we had a small child, we were advised to not move back in for three months until the house had been repainted inside and everything had been replaced. I spent hundreds of hours on the phone with my insurance company (we moved 7 times in three months) to get them to cover the expenses. Although our house was thankfully still standing, it took a lot of work to get back into it safely. Secondly, this is for people who are still in their homes in the LA area. Again- shut your windows! If you have central AC, buy filters to replace once a week. You need to protect the inside of your home from all of the nasty shit (technical term) that’s flying around in the air. You’ll be surprised how quickly your AC filters turn black. And lastly, if you are reading this and you know someone in need, offer them help. They probably don’t know how to ask and are in shock right now. I love you and I’ll keep doing what I can.
Kimberly McCullough Instagram - My hat goes off to your, sir Norman. What a wonderful life you lived. In my very first directing job, only 6 weeks after having a baby, I was feeling fragile and not quite ready to get back to work. On the set of “One Day At A Time”, you squeezed my chin and said “Look at you! A baby directing our show.” It wasn’t condescending at all. In fact you seemed thrilled by how far we’d come in the industry, giving young women a seat at the table. I replied, “I’m not a baby. I just had a baby”. You gave me nod of approval saying, “Even better. You let me know if you need anything.” That meant the world to me. Thank you for your service of the television industry, of our country and being a stand up human. #ripnormanlear

Kimberly McCullough Instagram - I’m often asked what it was like “growing up on television”. Although General Hospital was a big part of my life as I grew up, it wasn’t the most important part of my life. My focus was on whoever I was crushing on at the time and what me and my friends were going to do that weekend. Riding our bikes through the neighborhood, late night chats on the phone and long bus rides to the beach… that’s where I grew up. Been so nice to connect with old friends this summer and be proud of how much we’ve all grown. Love you Toni and Pam. 💗
Kimberly McCullough Instagram - First solo beach day this summer. PS- how cute is this man holding his baby behind me?
Kimberly McCullough Instagram - I finally got him to watch the sunset with me:)

For anyone who doesn’t know, my brothers are half Samoan, we share our mother. In my 20’s I wanted to go to American Samoa and learn more about their culture. It’s a stunning place filled warm and happy people and rich traditions. Since this first trip, I’ve been back a few times and even had one of my most adventurous surfing trips in Western Samoa. I can’t wait to take our son there someday. #americansamoa

One of the wonderful things about being a producing/director on a series is that you get to tell a story over time. In the image above (season 2) the steadycam move caught Ricky in the doorway for a fraction of a moment as Gina in the foreground sheds a tear for him. In the image below (season 4) Ricky and Gina, now dance together in the same angle and framing. As a director, I really like book ends and used blocking as a way of calling back to moments without directly referencing them. Thank you for posting this whoever you are and for being a fan. ❤️
