It was the first time in her career she competed in this weight category, she had previously competed in W64KG and W63KG, and she did great! She lifted 103KG in Snatch, which was the heaviest weight lifted in Snatch in the W59kg that day, and 128KG in C&J (4th place). She did a great competition and won Silver🥈 in Snatch and Bronze 🥉in Total. Also, fun fact, she lifted the same Total she lifted in the Commonwealth Games 2022 where she competed in the W64KG! 🤩

Maude Charron Instagram - I’ve been very quiet lately mostly because I was focussed on improving my technique, which, to be honest, made me go crazy. I’m not very patient when it comes to getting results and changing bad habits takes a lonnnnnng time. I cried, got angry, was discouraged, lost patient, wanted to kick the bar so hard or punch a hole in the walls. I felt ridiculous by missing “light weights” because I tried something different. I felt stupid when I wasn’t able to do the technical cue my coach wanted me to do even if, in my mind, I was doing it! Sometimes, I felt like a lost case and I hated weightlifting. I hate when I’m not enough. I am disappointed and I feel like I’m disappointing people around me. The weird thing is, it’s also what I love about sport. It pushes you to your limits, physically and mentally. It forces you to try harder and better. It ridiculizes you. It challenges you until you break. Even tho, you still show up the next day for more because deep down, you enjoy it. You love the challenges. I thought it was a good idea to share how, even elite athletes aren’t perfect. They have flaws and things to work on. They are human, like everyone, and have bad days too. It’s just easier to hide with social media.

For the first time during this Olympic qualifying period, I had a really great prep and I wanted to take advantage of it. I wanted to show how I’m still as strong as I was before my weight cut. 3 personal records 3 Canadian records 2 pan American records I’m now tied in second place in the Olympic qualifier ranking. And unofficially qualified for my second Olympic Games. 🥹 The level of this competition was incredible. Multiple Olympic champions and multiple world champions in the same session. Being able to medal at this event was as big as winning the Olympics. Unfortunately, sport is what it is, some athletes saw their Olympic dream shattered. I want to congratulate all of them who showed up and worked their **ses off. Your courage and your story is inspiring. @spencergarnold and @dogle , thank you for believing in us. Thank you for bringing my Olympic dream a reality. After winning at Tokyo 2020, I felt like an impostor but after this last competition, I know I belong with the best of this sport. Maude Charron Instagram - Santiago de Chile - 22 octobre 2023 Médaille d’argent aux Jeux Panaméricains 🥈 Après plusieurs montagnes-russes d’émotions durant les huit derniers mois, je ne peux expliquer à quel point je suis soulagée et heureuse de la tournure des évènements. J’avais besoin de compétitionner et peu importe le résultat de cette compétition, le simple fait de remettre les pieds sur la plateforme et de faire des essais était pour moi, une victoire.

I’m not very patient when it comes to getting results and changing bad habits takes a lonnnnnng time. I cried, got angry, was discouraged, lost patient, wanted to kick the bar so hard or punch a hole in the walls. I felt ridiculous by missing “light weights” because I tried something different. I felt stupid when I wasn’t able to do the technical cue my coach wanted me to do even if, in my mind, I was doing it! Sometimes, I felt like a lost case and I hated weightlifting. I hate when I’m not enough. I am disappointed and I feel like I’m disappointing people around me. The weird thing is, it’s also what I love about sport. It pushes you to your limits, physically and mentally. It forces you to try harder and better. It ridiculizes you. It challenges you until you break. Even tho, you still show up the next day for more because deep down, you enjoy it. You love the challenges. I thought it was a good idea to share how, even elite athletes aren’t perfect. They have flaws and things to work on. They are human, like everyone, and have bad days too. It’s just easier to hide with social media.

J’avais besoin de compétitionner et peu importe le résultat de cette compétition, le simple fait de remettre les pieds sur la plateforme et de faire des essais était pour moi, une victoire.
