Caption : “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man.” I am PROUD to have been arrested for defacing that racist ad in Sept. 25, 2012. At the time, some people accuse me of “vandalism.” I was a PROUD VANDAL. Some said I should have made an alternative ad and stood holding it by this racist ad. The Revolution is NOT POLITE. If Israel is “civilized,” I said at the time, then I am a PROUD SAVAGE. Eight months of Israeli savagery that has killed 36,000 Palestinians in Gaza. As so many say: every accusation a confession. Fuck your “civilization” if it drops 2,000 lbs bombs on displaced people in tents in a “safe zone.” If that is “civilized,” then I am a PROUD SAVAGE.Likes : 11494

Caption : “I’m not a victim of racism. I am a tormentor of racists,” Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr after 3 Valencia fans were sentenced to 8 months in prison on Monday for hate crimes against him. It is the first conviction for racist insults in a soccer stadium in Spain. “This first criminal conviction in the history of Spain is not for me. It’s for all Black people. May other racists be afraid, ashamed and hide in the shadows. Otherwise, I’ll be here to collect,” Vinicius Junior. OTHERWISE, I’LL BE HERE TO COLLECT. 💜✊🏽❤️Likes : 10960

Caption : “Hi, everyone. It’s Bisan from Gaza and I’m still alive!” Fuck each and every one of the 150 “celebrities” who tried to reverse Palestinian journalist Bisan’s Emmy nomination for documenting 10 months (so far) of surviving genocide Bisan’s rage, anger, and tears are commas, semicolons and exclamation marks punctuating Israel’s savagery in her land. I wrote a Wonder Chronicle about the wonder of 25yo Bisan! Bisan is so beloved and cared for that many of us around the world know her simply as BISAN! Her full name is Bisan Atef Owda And how dare you despair when Bisan’s hope still burns bright? And how dare you entertain complacency as this storyteller outruns death? Follow Bisan and trust her as the barometer of the tenacity of your wonder: catch up with Bisan. https://www.feministgiant.com/p/the-wonder-chronicles-3?r=50le&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=webLikes : 6334

Caption : Every time I hear of a cisgender heterosexual man who murdered women because he couldn’t find a romantic or sexual partner, I think of my youth and the number of men my unpartnered self could’ve killed. And every time we hear the excuses that patriarchy and its enforcers make for the violence on behalf of those murderous men’s dicks, it tells us everything we need to know about the difference between the kind of violence we are told to take seriously, and the kind we are told to consider as no more than the unavoidable cost of admission to living in a patriarchal world. The police in Australia have ruled out terrorism as the motive for a rampage by a man who stabbed six people to death at a crowded shopping mall in Sydney on Saturday. The police are wrong. The motive was terrorism. Patriarchy is the ideology. Misogyny is its political expression that is used to recruit and incite violence against women. Cisgender men are the terrorists. Genocide is not any less worse if it continues under the watch of a vice president who is a positive role model for masculinity. i wrote that essay before the DNC. Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza will be no less worse under the watch of an historic Harris-Walz administration. Feminism is not merely a woman in a position that has never been held by a woman before. Feminism is a woman in a position of power who uses that power to destroy, not uphold, patriarchy. And what is genocide but patriarchy writ large; toxic masculinity drunk on its power and ability to dominate, to obliterate, to kill, maim, and terrorise women, children, and men. https://www.feministgiant.com/p/essay-feminism-vs-genocideLikes : 1598

Caption : Asking people who oppose or disrupt VP Kamala Harris “Do you want Trump” “Do you want Trump?” is the wrong question. Of course they don’t. They want the U.S. to stop arming Israel’s genocide. They want Harris to earn their vote by clearly stating what she would do should she become President to end that genocide. They want Harris to earn the vote of Palestinian-American, Arab American, and Muslim American voters that Dems need in swing states to defeat Trump. They want Harris to earn the vote of every person of conscience who has demonstrated, joined encampments for Gaza on campuses across the U.S., and who has joined the Uncommitted Movement to protest the Biden-Harris administration Asking protesters demanding the U.S. end its support for Israel’s genocide “Do you want Trump?” is the wrong question to ask. The question is when will the U.S. stop arming, aiding, and abetting Israel’s barbarism? Genocide interrupts and disrupts. And you can be sure that interruptions and disruptions will be there in force at the Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Chicago August 19 – 22. The question is when will the U.S. stop arming, aiding, and abetting Israel’s barbarism? Genocide interrupts and disrupts. And you can be sure that interruptions and disruptions will be there in force at the Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Chicago August 19 – 22. Caption : I interviewed a 100-year-old Palestinian man 26 years ago this week when I went to Fawwar Refugee Camp in Nablus to report on the 50th anniversary of the Nakba. He was the embodiment of what Palestinians mean when they say “Existence is resistance.” He was 12 years old when the Ottoman Empire ended, 50 years old when he was forced out of his home in 1948, and had been living in a refugee camp for 50 years. When I met him in 1998, his great grandchildren helped me interview him because he had difficulty hearing. He was a living memorial to Palestinian existence in the face of Israeli brutality, ethnic cleansing, and occupation. I have been thinking of him often—100 years old!—as the numbers of children, babies even, murdered by Israel’s genocide continue to rise. Read these testimonies of Palestinian elders of the Nakba. And know that this is what Israel’s genocide aims to erase: Palestinian existence. Repost from @middleeasteye • Over the years Middle East Eye has spoken to Palestinians who lived through the Nakba, in which some 800,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced from their homes in 1948. Here’s what a few of them have had to say 🇵🇸👉 #Nakba #PalestinianNakba #1948 #15MayLikes : 1501

Caption : New essay: Who but a white Christian man could tell a class of graduating women in 2024 that they were probably most excited about becoming mothers and wives, only to have other white people in the United States (of White Supremacist Patriarchy) act shocked? Who do you think has been voting for the politicians and judges who are systematically stripping women of autonomy in the United States of Post-Roe v Wade to ensure that they become mothers and wives? “I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you,” Harrison Butker, the kicker for Super Bowl Champion the Kansas City Chiefs, had the fucking nerve to say in his commencement speech at Benedictine College, a private Catholic liberal arts school in Atchison, Kansas. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.” So successful has white supremacist patriarchy been at convincing white women especially that they’re lucky to live in the U.S. and not Saudi Arabia or Iran, that so many white women did not pay enough attention to the theocracy that white supremacy was building right here at home. It was being built by white men who look like their fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons, not the scary brown Muslim men with beards, right? It was being built by the white men with beards like Harrison Butker. But white Christian men are considered the default and norm and not scary in the U.S, right? Caption : Wonderful to see! As of Monday April 22 👇🏽 Repost from @democracynow • After more than 100 students from Barnard College and Columbia University were arrested at an encampment calling for the school to divest from Israel amid the country’s deadly assault on Gaza, solidarity protests have erupted across the country. Similar encampments have begun at MIT, Tufts, Emerson College, NYU, The New School, the University of Michigan, Washington University in St. Louis, Vanderbilt University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Columbia University has canceled in-person classes today as campus protests over the war on Gaza enter a sixth day. Classes will be held online today as the campus remains largely locked down. Organizers say at least 50 students have been suspended from Barnard and 35 from Columbia. A growing number of Columbia and Barnard alumni, employees and guest speakers have also publicly condemned or announced they are boycotting the prestigious institutions. At Yale, at least 45 students were arrested this morning as police attempted to clear an encampment set up on Friday night. Protests are continuing on the campus.Likes : 1348

Caption : My new essay: On Vice President Kamala Harris, Rep. Cori Bush, disruption, protest, feminism and genocide. Genocide is not polite. Genocide interrupts. Genocide is that action for which there must be an equal and opposite reaction. Feminism must be that equal and opposite reaction to genocide not only because genocide kills women and children and maims and terrorises pregnant women. Feminism is not only about women and children and pregnant women. Feminism is about destroying patriarchy, and what is genocide but patriarchy writ large; toxic masculinity drunk on its power and ability to dominate, to obliterate, to kill, maim, and terrorise women, children, and men. Feminism is not merely a woman in a position that has never been held by a woman before. Feminism is a woman in a position of power who uses that power to destroy, not uphold, patriarchy. Genocide interrupts and disrupts: the lives of those ravaged by its barbarism; the delusion that those of us far away can look away as we skim the still lake of our placid day to day. Asking protesters demanding the U.S. end its support for Israel’s genocide “Do you want Trump?” is the wrong question to ask. The question is when will the U.S. stop arming, aiding, and abetting Israel’s barbarism? Link in bio and stories https://www.feministgiant.com/p/essay-feminism-vs-genocideLikes : 1057

Caption : The second season of one of my favourite TV shows ever is here! We Are Lady Parts! Here’s an essay i wrote after the first season: (link stories and at FEMINIST GIANT) Too Loud, Swears Too Much, Goes Too Far— The Emancipatory Power of We Are Lady Parts When you’re a Muslim woman, you can’t fucking win. Every Muslim woman has an arsenal of you-can’t-fucking-win stories. And how lucky we are that Nida Manzoor channeled her arsenal into the revolutionary rocket of a show We Are Lady Parts. Nida Manzoor on why We Are Lady Parts is a comedy: “I felt that Muslim women…have often been shown in quite a serious light…esp with Muslim women and how they’re portrayed as oppressed and victims…My experience, and my friends’, is that of joy and fun and silliness” Men—and white people— are thankfully incidental to We Are Lady Parts. They are the supporting cast—eye candy, lovers or husbands, irritants or racists. And what a relief.
