I’ve been friends with Brinn for so long but been so terrified to take her class because my technique is not the strongest. The first few classes, I didn’t feel my personal best (regardless of this being a foundational level class) , butttttt for this one, I relaxed, I breathed, I prayed and I said you know What? we’re gonna embody this with as much emotion as possible so that the technique becomes secondary, and I really feel like I locked in the assignment I gave myself. I know true technique is extremely important, and that’s something I wish I had but also know it is something I can continue to build along the way. Natasha Slayton Instagram - I’ve had to start and stop my pole journey so many times over the years for so many different reasons, but I seriously fall more and more in love every time. Sometimes I feel morbid because it is so insanely difficult and painful, and every time you stop , not only do you have to rebuild your strength, but you ALSO have to “re-deaden” the pain receptors in your skin! 😫 (I have permanent bruises on my torso from ripping/burning my skin during a stomach grip hold - not cute). Regardless, it’s truly such a beautiful sport. Pole has shown me strength, humility and grace. It has taught me that I can do so much than I think I can. It has helped me overcome fear and empowered me to take that mentality into the rest of my life. Basically, it has made me feel like a bada$$ b*tch….and you know what? That’s cuz I am. 💪❤️‍🔥 Okurrrrr (& blah blah yes this is a beginner, lowflow freestyle because I am still rebuilding)

Natasha Slayton Instagram - Who can relate? 😅 We’ve all been there! Telling on myself! It took me such a long time to commit to a regular meditation practice! & to be perfectly honest, I’m still working on committing to it every single day. It wasn’t until I started studying Ayurveda that I FINALLY decided to dive deeper into the importance of meditation and learn to incorporate it into my daily routine. I don’t know about you, but with most things, my ego mind often likes to understand the WHY of something before I commit to it, so I thought I’d share some of the benefits of meditation below 🌞 Although this ancient spiritual practice is finally getting the recognition it deserves in the mainstream and allopathic/western space, most of the information being shared in these spaces is that which can only be affirmed through tried and tested studies and research. As my friend @iamkateschofield would say, I like to mix in a bit of the “woowoo with the truetrue”. Together, they make the perfect combination for me. In the heart of Chinatown, “Stay” @stay.zeroproof is an absolute gem of a place, and I’m so excited there’s finally a sexy spot like this in LA. The atmosphere is dark and sexy but warm and inviting, and whether you sit in the lounge or at the bar, the friendly staff will answer all your questions and you’ll sink into the cozy vibes right away. In keeping w the location, the theme of the menu is the Chinese Zodiac, and because I was born in the year of the Dragon, that’s obviously the first one I had to get 💁🏻‍♀️🐉….buttt shhh my favorites were by far the “Ox” (which was a smokey situation) & “The Tiger” (which was a spicy little Tajin number) If mocktails & astrology aren’t your thing, they also have an array of zero proof wine, beer and plant-based snackies (another bonus for those of us that are plant-based as well🤩) I do wish their mocktails had featured some adaptogens, but I have to admit I got really giggly and could feel the placebo taking effect. They’re open from 5pm-midnight Thurs-Sunday, and as a sober girlie of 7 years, I would rate “Stay” as an absolute 10/10. I can’t wait to go back! I don’t know about you, but with most things, my ego mind often likes to understand the WHY of something before I commit to it, so I thought I’d share some of the benefits of meditation below 🌞 Although this ancient spiritual practice is finally getting the recognition it deserves in the mainstream and allopathic/western space, most of the information being shared in these spaces is that which can only be affirmed through tried and tested studies and research. As my friend @iamkateschofield would say, I like to mix in a bit of the “woowoo with the truetrue”. Together, they make the perfect combination for me. When she passed, I truly felt like a fish out of water. I had previously been the epitome of a prima donna. In the heart of Chinatown, “Stay” @stay.zeroproof is an absolute gem of a place, and I’m so excited there’s finally a sexy spot like this in LA. The atmosphere is dark and sexy but warm and inviting, and whether you sit in the lounge or at the bar, the friendly staff will answer all your questions and you’ll sink into the cozy vibes right away. In keeping w the location, the theme of the menu is the Chinese Zodiac, and because I was born in the year of the Dragon, that’s obviously the first one I had to get 💁🏻‍♀️🐉….buttt shhh my favorites were by far the “Ox” (which was a smokey situation) & “The Tiger” (which was a spicy little Tajin number) If mocktails & astrology aren’t your thing, they also have an array of zero proof wine, beer and plant-based snackies (another bonus for those of us that are plant-based as well🤩) I do wish their mocktails had featured some adaptogens, but I have to admit I got really giggly and could feel the placebo taking effect. In the heart of Chinatown, “Stay” @stay.zeroproof is an absolute gem of a place, and I’m so excited there’s finally a sexy spot like this in LA. The atmosphere is dark and sexy but warm and inviting, and whether you sit in the lounge or at the bar, the friendly staff will answer all your questions and you’ll sink into the cozy vibes right away. In keeping w the location, the theme of the menu is the Chinese Zodiac, and because I was born in the year of the Dragon, that’s obviously the first one I had to get 💁🏻‍♀️🐉….buttt shhh my favorites were by far the “Ox” (which was a smokey situation) & “The Tiger” (which was a spicy little Tajin number) If mocktails & astrology aren’t your thing, they also have an array of zero proof wine, beer and plant-based snackies (another bonus for those of us that are plant-based as well🤩) I do wish their mocktails had featured some adaptogens, but I have to admit I got really giggly and could feel the placebo taking effect.
