Rose McGowan Instagram - Let us out. Protect the elders. Protect those who need to be protected. But we have to live. I am not an expert, but lockdowns in my view do not seem to be working. Children are losing time. Their mental health is suffering. People are suffering. And are we so different to those during the Black Plague in the Middle Ages? Are the ones who are going to die going to die? Do we have to let just happen? Should we let it just happen? It is more than okay to question, to wonder, to disagree. We cannot cancel minds for searching, making mistakes and growing. People die. It is tragic. But at what point is it enough and that this current approach is breaking human brains. These lockdowns are setting women back by decades. People of color by decades. The poor whites by decades. Women are losing their low-paying but damn it puts food on the table for my kids in record numbers jobs. At some point we have to say lockdowns aren’t working and let what happens happen while protecting the elderly and those with other serious conditions. Sometimes people die. Maybe it’s me next, maybe it’s you. We have been backed into a corner. What do you think should be done? Facts and science yes. But at what cost?

I posted this video to make the point that survivors are allowed to own their sexuality & sensuality. I can post whatever I feel like. You can post whatever you feel like. Being hurt sexually steals years from a victim. Many often don’t feel like they can be sexual or sensual anymore. Some become hyper sexual, both are normal. But it is a sign of recovery that I or anyone posts what they want, if you the viewer feels uncomfortable they can either look away or better yet examine why you feel uncomfortable. Rape was done to me. My healthy sexuality and sensuality are part of my recovery, part of reclaiming what was stolen, and pushing those who confuse the two to think differently and not be stereotypes. It’s ok if it’s not your taste or what you think you would do, but I don’t live in your life and you don’t live in mine. Do not shame me or anyone who wishes to live as if they hadn’t been raped. I guarantee many many Instagram models have been molested or assaulted. Do they not deserve to make their living how they see fit? I had to return her to her happy place. I could not stand to see her so sad. Today we have returned. For two months I tried to find a place to belong, a place to call home. Nothing fit. When you come from many places you are rootless, without a home or culture to call your own. This is both good and bad. To be a part of no memories, no ties, no bonds to people or home. I used to relate to the astronaut floating above the earth, on her own in the vast darkness and quiet of space.
