Seychelle Gabriel Instagram - I’m late to share this, but I got to voice Lois Lane in the new video game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League! I started working on this back in 2020 so it’s crazy to see it finally out 🙀 The team behind this game is so skilled and I learned a lot from them - there’s so much cool comic lore in this game. Check it out players!!! 👾

Seychelle Gabriel Instagram - Some of my favorite photos of my grandma Connie (Constance) who passed away this week. She was hilarious, saucy, deeply caring, and pretty darn unforgettable. The 1st photo was taken at the Sands Hotel in Vegas around 1967 by my grandfather, the 2nd she’s in costume with her brother/BFF in the 1930s, the 3rd she’s working for the family business in the 1940s, and the 4th she’s looking cute in the house we bought together. And then dancing!! ❤️♾ love is constant

Seychelle Gabriel Instagram - RIP to the hero and congressman, John Lewis. I took this photo during a walk down Atlanta’s historic “sweet” Auburn Avenue on MLK day in 2017 while I was working in the city at the time. Five days earlier, John Lewis testified against the nomination of the historically racist Jeff Sessions as Attorney General (slide 4). Four days later was the dreadful inauguration of Trump, an event which John Lewis would boycott in an admirable continuation of his long legacy of speaking truth to unjust power. John Lewis was fighting for justice his whole life, putting his actual body on the line many, many times for voting rights, for basic human rights in “the land of the free.” Let’s remember Lewis and vote for those who value BIPOC lives and rights. (Slide 3 is part of his speech at the 1963 March on Washington.)

Seychelle Gabriel Instagram - Simple action below to support the transgender community this week:
▫️
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is proposing a rule change to the existing Equal Access Rule which currently protects trans people from discrimination while seeking emergency shelter. This new proposed rule would give homeless shelters the option to turn away trans people. It would encourage shelters to look out for Adam’s apples and other physical features as “reasonable considerations” to determine a person’s biological gender (instead of listening to how that person identifies themselves) and using that to prohibit them from accessing a shelter that aligns with their gender identity.
▫️
It’s very harmful legislation that’s based on an unfounded argument that if laws are passed to protect trans folks (ie using a bathroom that aligns with their gender identity), that cis men will take advantage of it to harass women. But there’s no evidence of an increase in harassment/violence in any jurisdictions where trans protection laws have been passed (Check the Vox article “myth #3“ on their “Transgender People: 10 common myths” series), and passing trans protection laws doesn’t change the fact that it’s still illegal to assault anyone. Instead, this proposed rule only perpetuates the painful shaming of trans and gender non-conforming people, who are most at-risk for homelessness.
▫️
What you can do: Leave a public comment until next week (9/22), anonymous or not, and urge the HUD not to pass this degrading rule. Go to my saved stories for links to read the legislation and make your comment, and for more info on all of this. Won’t take long! 💙🤍💗

I started working on this back in 2020 so it’s crazy to see it finally out 🙀 The team behind this game is so skilled and I learned a lot from them - there’s so much cool comic lore in this game. Check it out players!!! 👾

Seychelle Gabriel - 2.9K Likes - Some pics from UCLA’s anti-genocide encampment last week before the police violently tore it down that night. It was a really communal and collaborative space before that. The last 3 slides show some history and recent statistics. How many more kids have to die in the name of “self defense”?

Seychelle Gabriel - 2.1K Likes - RIP to the hero and congressman, John Lewis.

Seychelle Gabriel - 1.8K Likes - Simple action below to support the transgender community this week:

Caption : Simple action below to support the transgender community this week: ▫️ The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is proposing a rule change to the existing Equal Access Rule which currently protects trans people from discrimination while seeking emergency shelter. ▫️ It’s very harmful legislation that’s based on an unfounded argument that if laws are passed to protect trans folks (ie using a bathroom that aligns with their gender identity), that cis men will take advantage of it to harass women.
