We’ve moved 3 times, bought 2 homes (one of which moved us across the country), had 3 babies, bought 10,000 fur babies (ok, not quite but it seems like it at times!), learned to become farmers (sorta) and a half dozen other things. So when he plans a night out at the opera for us, it’s more than just a “date night.” It’s a reminder that despite all the craziness in our lives, at the end of the day, we still choose each other. Shandi Finnessey Instagram - Anyone else buy stuff online and then when it shows up, you’re like “oh yeah… I forgot I bought this.” Asking for a friend… Just joking. I mean, that does happen, but these two I’ve been so excited to finally get! My gong came in yesterday (obsessed already…) and we just picked up my cow right now. We have named him Tofu (I don’t eat meat… haven’t for 15 years now) and I love him already. His fur is super soft and he follows you around like a puppy dog. Well, a puppy dog if that puppy dog weighed over 1000 pounds and took poops the size of a puppy dog. 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, I love him and I might just teach him to play the gong. Stay tuned…

Shandi Finnessey Instagram - Sweet Tofu came to live with us a few weeks ago. Before this, I had never spent time with a cow before. Heck, I don’t think I had even pet a cow! I knew they were sweet animals but had no idea how calm and gentle they were… how they have their own personalities… and how they love to be loved. Tofu is the best addition to our farm. And if I didn’t already have a lifestyle that omits all chicken/pork/beef, there’s no way I could ever eat another steak or beef burger again after knowing Tofu. He truly is just a great big puppy dog! And I hope he lives forever… #farmlife

And, of course, the sweet little Miss Buttercup pageant, which I had the honor of judging this year. 🌼 So blessed to call this place “home.” 🥰

We’ve moved 3 times, bought 2 homes (one of which moved us across the country), had 3 babies, bought 10,000 fur babies (ok, not quite but it seems like it at times!), learned to become farmers (sorta) and a half dozen other things. So when he plans a night out at the opera for us, it’s more than just a “date night.” It’s a reminder that despite all the craziness in our lives, at the end of the day, we still choose each other. (And when we get into a fit of giggles during a serious part in the opera, it’s a reminder than we never laugh as hard as we do when we are together) ❤️❤️❤️

This afternoon we invited Finn’s 1st grade class over for a Back to School party so we could meet the kids he spends every week day with and their parents. The kids were all adorable and LOVED meeting our pasture pets. 💖 After everyone left, our family had pizza in our pavilion for dinner and I was listening to Finn and Bodhi have the sweetest conversation. Finn : Bodhi… who do you have a crush on? Jovie?? Bodhi : Huh? No. My biggest crush is Mommy. 🥰🥰🥰 I love being a boy mom. I get to have FOUR guys in my life that think I’m just the bees knees. ✨

And I entered one of my chicken eggs in the “oddest egg” contest and won a second place ribbon. Sadly, my honey didn’t win… as I had to transfer the honey to a different container last minute (it’s a long story) and in the process, it got 2 air bubbles in it… which isn’t good. Caption : Anyone else buy stuff online and then when it shows up, you’re like “oh yeah… I forgot I bought this.” Asking for a friend… Just joking. I knew they were sweet animals but had no idea how calm and gentle they were… how they have their own personalities… and how they love to be loved. Tofu is the best addition to our farm. And if I didn’t already have a lifestyle that omits all chicken/pork/beef, there’s no way I could ever eat another steak or beef burger again after knowing Tofu. He truly is just a great big puppy dog! And I hope he lives forever… #farmlife

And, of course, the sweet little Miss Buttercup pageant, which I had the honor of judging this year. 🌼 So blessed to call this place “home.” 🥰
