Tina Majorino Instagram - Beloved Robbie I am so sad you’ve gone. You were the funniest, sweetest man. I’m so grateful for the time I got to spend with you. I count myself lucky to have been able to witness your comedic brilliance, the power of which I was not prepared for. I ruined more takes with you than I ever have in my career, you made me laugh so hard. People had warned me about you, that you might be a bit brusque and that I shouldn’t expect for us to get along. How wrong they were. You were one of my favorites by far. Now as an adult, I have such a different and more powerful appreciation for the grown ups who made a hard job easier, who treated me with such kindness and respect, who shared wisdom that’s sewn into my soul, and have given me memories I will never forget and visit often with fondness. You were one of those grownups. ❤️

We found each other, guided perfectly into each other’s arms where we always belonged - me, a lost and frightened 20 year old girl, you, a tiny little baby Lone Ranger who was told from day 1 there was no hope. But we gave it back to each other, didn’t we? That hope, that love, we both needed so badly. Emma Gene you brought me back to myself. You breathed new life into my broken heart & showed me how to put the pieces back together. You showed me how to be strong & how to be soft with people who earned the right to see it. You taught me how to be resilient & what it means to be a woman with grace. You taught me that true beauty is in the soul & the heart & that nothing could ever take that away. You showed me the importance of patience, & opened me up to Trust - in you, in the universe, & the people who through your example, you urged me to love even when it was scary. To go for it, no matter what anyone said. To believe in the power of my dreams again. Through your eyes I could see that nothing is ever too wonderful to be true. For these reasons & thousands more, I am forever in your debt my sweet girl. People always tell me that I was the one who gave you a new lease on life, but it’s quite the opposite. An Angel sent to me, a creature so full of love and magic and mystery, so peculiar and perfect, who spoke a language only our hearts knew. Soul mates. I’ve never gotten it quite right with humans, most of what I’ve meant to say gets lost somehow, a part of me always feeling unknown, a loneliness I could never shake and may never fully. But in an attempt to never fall into that trap, I think some of us (and I’m including myself in this group) really go out of our way to swing the opposite direction and play ourselves down a lot - just in case the moments where we’re actually really proud of ourselves could be misconstrued as “Flexing”. And I’m over it. You’re allowed to be proud of yourself, to be proud of what you’ve accomplished and the life you’ve built for yourself. It doesn’t make you arrogant. There’s a huge chasm between being proud of yourself - standing fully and authentically in your life - and being a gloating, arrogant, egomaniac. There’s also a huge chasm between stating facts - the truths of who you are and what you do - and curating a life and a feed that shows off what you know other people will be jealous of. I’m done playing small, and I wish the same for you. You can be kind and successful. You can have humility and create amazing things. But let’s not be humble to a default. Let’s not pretend we’re not as dope as we are just in case someone doesn’t like it. Let’s stop acting like our accomplishments that we’ve worked really hard for don’t mean as much as they do, just in case someone’s threatened by it. How others feel about what you do and who you are have nothing to do with you. So if anyone’s gonna call you “intimidating” maybe that’s on them. Keep doing you. Keep being you. Take up space. You deserve to be here. You deserve success. You deserve to create a life you’re proud of no matter what it looks like or what anyone has to say about it. Define your own awesome. And don’t be afraid to “flex” that on the world. Some people won’t like you and that’s okay. At least the ones who DO, like you for YOU - in all your imperfect, hardworking, go-getter glory. Instagram is cool, but I see how often it’s used to compare, and “flex” materialism and status. Which never feels good to anyone except the people doing it, and let’s be honest - there’s probably a lot to unpack there. But in an attempt to never fall into that trap, I think some of us (and I’m including myself in this group) really go out of our way to swing the opposite direction and play ourselves down a lot - just in case the moments where we’re actually really proud of ourselves could be misconstrued as “Flexing”. And I’m over it. You’re allowed to be proud of yourself, to be proud of what you’ve accomplished and the life you’ve built for yourself. It doesn’t make you arrogant. There’s a huge chasm between being proud of yourself - standing fully and authentically in your life - and being a gloating, arrogant, egomaniac. There’s also a huge chasm between stating facts - the truths of who you are and what you do - and curating a life and a feed that shows off what you know other people will be jealous of. I’m done playing small, and I wish the same for you. You can be kind and successful. You can have humility and create amazing things. But let’s not be humble to a default. Let’s not pretend we’re not as dope as we are just in case someone doesn’t like it. Let’s stop acting like our accomplishments that we’ve worked really hard for don’t mean as much as they do, just in case someone’s threatened by it. How others feel about what you do and who you are have nothing to do with you. So if anyone’s gonna call you “intimidating” maybe that’s on them. Keep doing you. Keep being you. Take up space. You deserve to be here. You deserve success. You deserve to create a life you’re proud of no matter what it looks like or what anyone has to say about it. Define your own awesome. And don’t be afraid to “flex” that on the world. Some people won’t like you and that’s okay. At least the ones who DO, like you for YOU - in all your imperfect, hardworking, go-getter glory. Heart you. Keep go-gettin em. ❤️
