Time flies and before my first baby began high school this fall, I thought it was time to explore the world together (while my boys still want to hold my hand 😜). And in the middle of our travels on a cruise from Rome to the Greek Islands, Malta and Barcelona, I meet one of the lead performers in the evening Broadway style shows on the ship and he tells me “Wendy Braun! Your Success Breakthrough Workshop changed my life.” ❤️🙏🌎 So in the middle of the ocean, half way around the world, on a trip with my family, I get to witness the success of one of my amazing students (from Glasgow and now based in London) and celebrate him shining in the spotlight (and perform like a Broadway star). Wendy Braun - 128 Likes - My beautiful mother would have been 92 today. 🌈💕🌈

Loved by so many children for her years as The Romper Room Lady, Miss Beverly.

This Chicago Tribune Magazine cover captures her light, her charm, her joy and how much she loved inspiring and teaching children.

She was on Romper Room from 1962-1967, decades (ok, years) before I was born.

In those days, you couldn’t say the word “pregnant” on TV or even BE pregnant on tv. (Now, it seems, you can watch someone get pregnant on tv!)

So, she had to say “I am going to have a “Do-Bee” of my own.”

Do-Bee Don’t Bee were life-sized bees that would come to Romper Room to teach children about manners.

I have a feeling that whoever told her to tell the children she was going to have a “do-bee of her own’ was probably stoned. 😳

Anyway, my mom passed away in 2010, 2 weeks before her 80th birthday. She met my first son at 16 months old, and never met the 2nd son, but assured me, I would definitely have another.

She loved the theatre and made sure we saw every show that came through Chicago (even if it meant working as volunteer ushers- which we did).

She encouraged my love of the arts and supported my every dream. She also started every standing ovation I ever got since high school. 👏👏👏

One of our last moments together was me singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” to her and letting her know it was okay to let go.

Losing a parent is one of the toughest things I’ve gone through. But I know, that my mother’s love and light live on within me, and now, I get to continue to pass that along to my own children.

I am so thankful for all I learned from this beautiful soul. She wouldn’t want me to be sad today, she’d want me to celebrate, to sing, to dance, to live.

So, here’s to making the most of the life you’ve been given. As far as I know, you only get one.

I’m gonna turn on Judy Garland, and sing and dance, and who’s kidding who - probably bawl my eyes out.

No matter how you are feeling today, remember….

Loved seeing some old friends and making new ones. Hugging my amazing students for the first time in person (@melaniecollup @dawnniemercado @jeanvavra to name a few) and having others share that my talk released blocks within them and soothed their soul. 🙏 Loved seeing @marketing4actors for the first time after years of online friendship. Wendy Braun - 104 Likes - When I first moved to LA the top 10 commercial agents all turned me down. Then my father (and biggest cheerleader) passed away. Then my boyfriend dumped me.

But I kept going.

I got a smaller agent.
I did student films.
I took lots of acting improv classes.

Eventually I booked
19 national commercials in one year.

Then I got offered a 26 spot campaign that turned into a 3 year spokeswoman contract including getting serenaded by my childhood crush, David Cassidy,

But I still wasn’t happy.
No matter what I achieved it was never enough.

All of my down time was spent being busy doing more for my career.

I was exhausted, frustrated, unfulfilled finally forced to find another way.

Until one day, I made 2 decisions.
1. I decided to STOP ALL THE DOING.
2. I decided to FOCUS ON WHO I WAS BEING

And I began to tend to my INNER GAME.

And in a very short time, my life career changed dramatically.

I was offered
1 episode of General Hospital that turned into 10 episodes,

My character was asked to join their spinoff show, Night Shift.

I got offered a movie of the week.
I booked a pilot.
I married my soulmate.
I easily got pregnant.
And I am now mother to 2 beautiful sons.

Wendy Braun - 75 Likes - 🏂🏂When I was 25 I learned how to snowboard with my best girlfriend. I fell down a lot, caught a lot of edges, cried some tears.

And I kept getting up and trying again.

Just a few years later, without even realizing it, Josh and I would both be at The Sundance Film Festival at the same time, and instead of spending all day watching movies, we each hit the slopes…alone.🏂🏂

Snowboarding became a moving meditation for me. Where all time stops, you’re focused solely on the present moment, and connected deeply with nature.

And here I am over 25 years later, married to this adventurous soul, who is always seeking “the fun,” and I’m so happy to be along for all our “joy rides.”

This year our kids started snowboarding for the first time, and yes, there were tears, and wipeouts, and sore muscles (and yes I have them wear knee pads and wrist guard gloves 😜), and inside of three days, they kept going, kept getting up when they fell down, and ultimately….showed themselves what they’re made of.🏂🏂

I hope as the year it comes to close, you look back on the challenges, and mine the gold out of each one of them. Because you may not be able to see it now, but it’s the falls and the bruises and the fact that you get up again, and #KeepGoingSunshine that shapes who you become.

It’s all part of the journey. Be proud of all of it. 🙌

I like to think of it as “answering the call,,” when my emotions and thoughts get the best of me. I also like to use acronyms because they help me remember things. Wendy Braun - 69 Likes - Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads. 💙💙💙 I remember being in my early 30s, just getting over a devastating break up (feeling I was late on my marriage and family timeline) and wondering if I’d ever find true love. I also remember hearing this piece of advice: “Marry the man you want your sons to be like.” I’m feel so grateful today that (along my winding path) I reconnected with this amazing man who leads with love, light, humor, grace and compassion. My own father (who I lost over 20 years ago) never met my husband, but I know he would have loved him dearly. So if you’re missing your dad today or wondering how life will turn out for you, just keep trusting in the future you cannot see. Thank you to my sweet husband for teaching our sons to ride the waves of life. Then. And now. And as my late father suggested: #KeepGoingSunshine 💙💙🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️🙏🙏
