Before anything, a shout out to my Mum, my family, my friends and DA fam ā€“ Iā€™m blessed to have you all. In July of 2019 I was in a serious and fatal car accident in Zakynthos, Greece. My whole life changed. I spent many months in hospital (3 hospitals in Greece, 1 in Australia), months in a wheelchair and had many surgeries after that. I shouldn't be standing, let alone walking, and I am so grateful that I am. I look at the messages that fans, friends and family sent & send me and feel guilty for my non-response. I didn't want anyone to know what was happening. But, I was carried and strengthened through the period because of all that love, and so I suppose what I really want to say isā€¦ thank you. As far as injuries go, this has been pretty bad. I am supposed to be a quadriplegic, and I thank my lucky angels every day that I am not. I wonā€™t give a medical breakdown here but letā€™s just say, I broke all vertebrae bar 4, had major surgery awake with no painkillers, and died on my way to this new life. I miss ballet, I miss acting, I miss who I used to be. But, I am proud of who I am now. Iā€™ve never been one to post on social media about personal matters ā€“ this is really scary! I tried very hard to get back to ballet training and didnā€™t do very well at it. Couldnā€™t even balance, and that was my thing! Today I had the overwhelming experience of going in to @bauerfeindaustralia. They took a 360 degree image of my legs and ankle and set me up with some seriously good support. Thanks Walid! ā¤ļø This is a nutty video of me balancing for the first time on a 3/4 pointe since last year. Itā€™s a phenomenal feeling. At this point in time almost all workers in all fields in the arts are not eligible for assistance from our government. We are all at home watching and listening to creatives to get through this, the creatives who work so hard to bring us entertainment and knowledge. However they work mostly, casually, and for less than 12 months with one employer. We understand there has to be a line drawn somewhere for government support. But I for one am suggesting that a seperate arts assistance package is created as soon as possible. We are relying on them to keep us positive, entertained and informed. At this point in time almost all workers in all fields in the arts are not eligible for assistance from our government. My whole life changed. I spent many months in hospital (3 hospitals in Greece, 1 in Australia), months in a wheelchair and had many surgeries after that. I shouldn't be standing, let alone walking, and I am so grateful that I am. I look at the messages that fans, friends and family sent & send me and feel guilty for my non-response. I didn't want anyone to know what was happening. But, I was carried and strengthened through the period because of all that love, and so I suppose what I really want to say isā€¦ thank you. As far as injuries go, this has been pretty bad. I am supposed to be a quadriplegic, and I thank my lucky angels every day that I am not. I wonā€™t give a medical breakdown here but letā€™s just say, I broke all vertebrae bar 4, had major surgery awake with no painkillers, and died on my way to this new life. I miss ballet, I miss acting, I miss who I used to be. But, I am proud of who I am now. Iā€™ve never been one to post on social media about personal matters ā€“ this is really scary! But I want to tell the story now. Iā€™m ready for it. To the stunning Greek community and my Zakynthos friends, I think of you every day. I tried very hard to get back to ballet training and didnā€™t do very well at it. Couldnā€™t even balance, and that was my thing! Today I had the overwhelming experience of going in to @bauerfeindaustralia. They took a 360 degree image of my legs and ankle and set me up with some seriously good support.
