When I visited @unimelbforpalestine’s Campus Encampment for Gaza today, I saw the best of us. I saw community, solidarity and an unwavering commitment to justice for Palestine. Peaceful actions like these on campus are at the centre of the biggest movements of our time. These students are on the right side of history. The Greens back them. The PM should too. If you can get down and drop off some food or supplies to a campus near you, please do. You’ll leave believing that a better world is possible. @elleninmelbourne @samantharatnam @angelicapanopoulos_greens

What does Labor expect people to do? My response to Labor’s Budget betrayal of millions of people doing it tough ➡️
We can’t keep voting for the same two parties and expecting a different result. It’s time to break up the two party system. Here’s what you need to know.
If Labor could stop approving new coal and gas in a climate crisis that would be GREAT, because it’s getting hot round here and not in a H-O-T T-O G-O kinda way 🥵

Labor had the power to freeze rents through National Cabinet. Instead they chose to spit in the face of Australia’s 7 million renters & lock in unlimited rent increases. Today’s CPI data is the consequences. Rents (7.3%) are increasing at close to twice the rate of inflation (3.8%) 🤯

A new housing minister isn’t going to change tired old housing policies. But if Labor come to the table, they could work with the Greens to tackle this problem head on and get real outcomes for people in the next few months. @mchandlermather explains.
A new salesperson selling the same unlimited rent increases, skyrocketing house prices, chronic underfunding of public housing & tax handouts for investors will fail. 👏🏼 @mchandlermather

Excited to announce Roxane Ingleton as the Greens candidate for Mayor of Melbourne & @marleymcraemcleod for Deputy Mayor in the upcoming Victorian local government elections! Fierce advocates for renters, they’ve already announced their plan to guarantee 30% public and affordable homes in new developments in Melbourne. Roxane is a midwife, renter & unionist who has experienced first hand the rental crisis in Melbourne, while as a student, Marley will give young people who are locked out of Melbourne a seat at the table. It’s going to take all levels of Government to tackle the housing crisis head on. Renters have the chance to shape the outcomes of local government elections, so let’s get Roxane and Marley elected so they can fight for renters and fairer housing for all. Update your details by August 7th and get involved.

Labor have made it clear they’re on the side of wealthy property investors, not public housing. 👏🏼 @samantharatnam
Of the 222 Disability Royal Commission recommendations, the Labor government fully supports only 13 – that’s less than 6% 😡 Labor have not supported any of the key recommendations made by the disabled Commissioner’s to end the segregation of disabled people in housing, education and work. Below is a summary of just some of the recommendations which Labor failed to support: ❌ Ending segregation of disabled students by transitioning to an inclusive education system ❌ Ending segregated workplaces and paying all disabled people are paid the minimum wage ❌ Ending group homes ❌ Appoint a Federal Disability Minister They couldn’t even bring themselves to support a ban on the forced sterilisation of disabled people… The Greens and @jordonsteelejohn will continue to work with the disability community to achieve these urgently needed. And together, in the Parliament, on the streets and at the ballot box, we will end disability segregation and create a truly inclusive community ✊🏼
