Kilian Jornet is no stranger to a challenge. So when he describes his latest challenge, Rediscovering the Pyrenees, “as one of the hardest things I’ve ever done”, it’s no surprise that the data around it is… impressive. Take a full look at his journey over the course of 8 days at the 🔗 in bio.

36. Feeling young and strong ya know…😅
Even though I moved away from the Alps in 2016, they remain a very special place for me to run, climb, ski or play. I love the deep history and culture surrounding mountain sports in these valleys, and nothing compares to the feeling of looking up to snow-capped 4000-meter peaks in the middle of Summer. I’m glad to be back here to race @sierrezinal_officiel and looking forward to what’s to come!

A great 2 day trip. Two days ago @tinaemelie and I started to run from Namche, at Tengboche she turned to do a longer run and I continued to Everest Base Camp. Yesterday I went up to above Camp 2, at 6600m and then ran back to Namche.
For the small story, my duffel bag hadn’t arrived so yesterday’s trip was without food, a good hypoxia fatOx syimuli 😅
For all the trip I used the same shoes, I putted a carbon insole in my Tomir’s boots to have the crampons, and removed it for the run back. One of the things it annoys me the most on expeditions is that often we need to bring a lot of gear, and trying to have more versatile gear, to have less and use more.

Last week(s) in Romsdal have been amazing. All the sun we didn’t have during the past winter, probably whole past year, have decided to finally show up. And we took advantage of it.
Great trainings and activities for what’s coming!

We went all up to Pheriche, enjoyed some days at @the_edelweiss_pheriche and the new bakery 😋
We did some runs together with @tinaemelie and some loops higher up in the mountains too.
If you want to follow more our trip (I’m not very good at social media while here 😜 ) you can look at @nnormal_official

After a winter with great volume in Skimo, it’s now time to continue training thinking about the start of the trail running season. Ski sessions. Volume. And long running workouts with a variety of intensity.

A research article. Narrated by Kilian Jornet.
It was poetry in motion. But who reads without being heard? Who runs without gaining distance?
Bringing a treadmill to the mountains — to Kilian’s mountains — he told us, gave him a new perspective on the paths he’d run a trillion times. It made him feel the wind, look at the ridges and the valleys — all these familiar views — in a new light. Made him discover all that he usually overlooks.
Blinkered by the status quo, we all overlook alternatives.
Daring to be bold and to challenge acceptance of established practice is the essence of innovation. Only when you step back and see the wider landscape do you give yourself space to ask questions. Solutions are harder to see when you’re close to the problem. Even in places where many feet have already walked, it’s possible to find a new path — to do things differently and reveal new potential.
This is a new perspective on familiar.
