Amber Riley Instagram – This was my one non-negotiable today. I promised today I’d break these boxes down and clear all trash in the house. Sounds like a small and easy thing. But as an ADHDer, I consider every small task completed A WIN! I’ve been decluttering and WOW have I accumulated a lot of SHIT.
Anyway.
This has been a process over the past few weeks. One lesson I have learned is to give myself grace. I tend to want to get everything done at one time, and if it’s not perfect I am really hard on myself and sometimes feel like I’m just failing at life. But, I remind myself, there is no consequence if everything is not done all at one time. In other words “who gone check me boo?” Lol
Nothing will ever be perfect, so SLOW DOWN! Do what you can, when you can. I mean what’s that saying? How do you eat an elephant?!? One bite at a time. (My boyfriend says this to me all the time @scoobzdoo)
Having one non-negotiable task keeps me from feeling overwhelmed if I don’t get EVERYTHING done on my “to-do list”. It also makes me feel accomplished and boosts my self esteem when the task is complete! So, will you try it this week? Just one thing! I don’t care if it’s just to boil an egg!
