Pada Kongres Wanita Indonesia X tahun 1964 yang dihadiri oleh Presiden Soekarno dinyatakan bahwa Revolusi Indonesia tidak dapat berjalan tanpa keterlibatan perempuan di mana seluruh perempuan yang hadir pada Kongres tersebut memakai kain dan kebaya. Kebaya telah menjadi bagian dari kehidupan perempuan Indonesia sehari-hari dan dapat dikenakan dalam berbagai kesempatan dan juga bisa disesuaikan dengan style dan kepribadian tiap pemakainya. Bagi saya sendiri kebaya adalah cerita dari nenek moyang yang ditumpahkan melalui budaya wastra dan saya bangga mengenakan kebaya dengan gaya saya sendiri.
