It broke my heart when I saw my friend and collaborator Ezequiel de la Rosa’s home and studio get flooded. It was a place we had spent so much time together. Not just shooting videos for all of my friends on Instagram, for all of you… But because we spent lunch times eating Cuban food that he made. We would argue over ideas and thoughts and pictures and videos… This was our place. After I got over the shock of watching the rain pour down in the middle of our sacred spot, I called Ez and told him that this could be the best thing that ever happened to him…After having renovated my place and knowing how much it cost me, he was going to get a fabulous facelift And that was our mantra through the entire renovation; that mantra was: “and this, too, shall pass”(Abraham Lincoln) And I think that is the greatest saying of all time. Roberto… My heart breaks. We had such amazing times together. When you invited me to AmFar, I was flattered beyond belief. You could’ve asked anyone. #Teatime part 2
I’ve lived in my apartment for many years and it’s funny how I never saw this beautiful building. I’ve walked by it so many times but never actually LOOKED add it. The brickwork the front stoop or maybe it’s a porch is so pretty that we had to shoot it. Have you ever suddenly seen some thing that you’ve never seen before but have passed by all the time? It’s a very strange feeling
Nothing like a fabulous face scrub! One that leaves your skin soft and smooth. Show the world your fabulous face. Sorry for the delay in sending the recipe! Recipe Friday became recipe Sunday now(well actually just this week)… While my Social Media guy (Ezequiel , de la Rosa) is taking a much needed break… We are falling behind. Apologies to all. But here’s the recipe.
Recipe Fridays hope you like here’s the recipe That’s the date nut bars. Chopped walnuts
Chopped pitted dates
Vanilla
Add vanilla to the pitted dates…
Make a ball out of the dates, roll it in the chopped walnuts
Put in the dehydrator for 10 hours
It’s donut time!! here’s the recipe
Donut holes…
1 cup finally ground cashews.
1/2
cup raw, almond flour.
1/2 a cup coconut flour, 1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of lemon
Half a cup of Medjool dates
Add a little bit of water to help it blend.
After blending roll them into balls, and you can dip them into different toppings:
Coconut palm sugar
Zint chocolate powder.
Shredded coconut.
Dehydrate for 15 hours
it is not a black-and-white world. Things cannot be seen in black-and-white. There are many many shades of grey in every situation. They say there’s three sides to every story, her side, his side and the truth. … the middle ground of love, compromise, forgiveness, and trying to get along. We can’t see things just in black-and-white. If we don’t allow those shades of gray in, it makes for a very difficult world. So I opt for gray! Gray is a wonderful color.
Obviously, I shot this before I started renovating in anticipation of not having a kitchen for 100 years.
I hope we don’t run out of recipes… Doesn’t seem like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it feels like we’re never going to get through something. And then suddenly it’s in our rearview mirror. I think the point here is that we have to enjoy every moment. And that is what I am trying to do.
Here’s a cookie recipe for you cookie monsters. Cookies…
-Chopped walnuts,
-chopped dates.
-Add raw almond flour, (which I got on Amazon but you can also make it from raw almonds blended in your blender)
-Add honey to taste.
-Dehydrate until firm.
-You can put a drop of jelly on them.

I don’t know why I always wear black in New York City. Black, dark brown, navy blue… Maybe the occasional dark red. New York City seems to dictate a darker wardrobe. The minute I’m in Los Angeles or anywhere else I am in white and pink and very bright, light colors. Do you find the place that you live dictates how you dress? The dress is @staud.clothing the shoes are @prada

Black is my favorite color. Black always seems to go… It can be dressy or it can be casual.
The only place it doesn’t go is LA or Florida!
I know because I tried black in LA and they always say “you’re from NY aren’t you?” 😻
