Everyone said it deserved to be on my feed. I hope my story inspires you to keep going. Slide 1: my assistant caught this moment of stillness on our way to set last week somewhere in the middle of Tamil Nadu. Slide 2-4: remember that not all that glitters is gold. Everyone’s fighting a battle you don’t know about; and we usually only choose to share the highlights on social media. Instagram is not real life. Slide 5: hosting my first radio show in LA. I had only been in LA (my first time in America ever mind you) for about 5 months; but I was so incredibly proud of myself for achieving another “first Indian girl to do..” thing. Slide 6: on set for a big music video in LA in 2012. Besides acting since the age of 3, I used to always also want to be a video vixen like the women in my favourite R&B videos haha! Slide 7: somewhere in California, shooting a pilot episode for my first travel reality show in March of 2014. Slide 8: in August of 2014, a couple of months after I was blindsided with divorce papers. This photo was shot on the floor of my apartment in Hollywood that had no heater or ac. I was skin and bones and I look at this picture and see so much pain in my eyes. Slide 9: teachers used to tell this little girl even until the age of 17, that my dreams were too big, and fame and success in entertainment doesn’t happen to “people like me”. Keep going. Have faith. God bless.

Visited my girls and had to catch up on very important big sister girl talk and bring them “America chocolates”. Forever in awe of the incredible work the ‘Children’s Home of Hope’ in Chennai does to enrich, guide and nuture the girls lives. Beyond blessed to be a part of their world. Happy 37th anniversary to my heart and soul. I am everything I am because of you. 45 years together and still so in love. I thank god for our biggest blessings. I love you both endlessly amma and daddy ❤️
Spent most of my 5 months in India on my last trip shooting an action film as the lead in rural Andra Pradesh. Shooting action sequences in the cold of winter at night and then to kicking ass in the scorching summer sun; taking in village life and getting to experience so much of India through my work.. the little Aussie Indian in me is so happy 🥹

Thank you to the @indianfilmfestival for inviting me again to attend the opening night of the festival here in Los Angeles. It was a proud moment to be in a room with so many incredible creatives from the South Asian film industry. Thank you for all you do for our cinema!
