Emma Dabiri Instagram – July was 🔥 Jamaica ~ man like Bogle !!! Revolutionary histories are my jam. Visited Emancipation Park in Kingston and this statue of Paul Bogle who on 23 October was hanged for organising the Morant Bay rebellion, despite his death the rebellion is seen as a turning point in Jamaican history. With the impact of Bogles objective of improving the political and economic conditions of the poor beginning to be felt and the whole incident paving the way for new attitudes ( I love the similarities between Jamaica and Ireland in that that so many of the national heroes are people who fought British imperialism oppression)
Deeply stimulating convo @cartier discussing the role of the artist, and covering everything from the relationship between quantum physics and ancestral time to the invention of race
