While isomalto-oligosaccharides are a healthy option instead of sugar, a 2018 study in Nutrients Journal found that it spikes blood sugar in the first 2-hours the same way regular sugar (dextrose) does.

It was only after the 2-4 hour mark where a statistically significant difference in blood sugar was seen (lower) compared to normal sugar.
