Yes you’re doing it for me but you’re also doing it for YOU- because you want films that touch you. Fresh Kills, as the latest review from Brian Cartwright @dailygrindhouse writes- “A lot of FRESH KILLS is about the unspoken agreement between parents and children to carry on after kids are burdened with the horror of knowing who their parents are.” This story is about family and the lies we hold deep within the family and with ourselves to keep us together. It’s about sisters, mothers and daughters and daughters and fathers- it’s about ALL of us. Which is why it’s hitting so many so deeply. Yup. To all those overseas who have been asking me – I don’t know what to even say anymore but make a stink about it. If you only knew what I’m being told. If you want the film or have seen it and loved it then help me. POST, rent, review and SCREAM it from the mountaintops. It may not do a damn thing but you absolutely SHOULD be mad about the gatekeepers telling YOU what you can see and cannot. Unreal. @freshkillsmovie
I wanted to go to film school. NYU to be exact. My parents couldn’t afford it and education wasn’t really pushed in my house. I knew I wanted to tell stories. But didn’t see or hear about ANY females that did that. They were actresses. So I thought- I guess that’s it then. Waited tables to put myself through acting school and all the while longing for a bigger way to tell the WHOLE story. This feeling haunted me my entire career. I’ve never felt more at home behind the camera, telling ALL of the story, than I did on my set of Fresh Kills. Even with the intense crazy hard indie of it all- it was joy and felt like I finally found where I belonged. I gave that experience to myself. No one was going to give it to me. No one. What are you thinking you could do- should do – must do? GO DO IT. I’d rather risk and lose than die never knowing. GO!

Okay- its everywhere from #Vogue to @todayshow – #mobwife #mobwifeaesthetic for me it’s less about dressing like someone’s wife – and that someone possibly being not such a great guy – but more about women taking back their sexuality, their curves and saying FYOU to the “rules” we’ve all been living under- whatever that is. Finding a voice of one’s OWN! Being bold, being loud, – the days of “wellness” “clean girl” aesthetic is BORING and unattainable. Cheers to the women who are living out loud and FINALLY showing it!!!
