What a day! I’m on such a high!! Today, I shattered my own glass ceiling and I am SO proud of myself 👏🏾 Performing solo for the first time since 2010, without my band, keyboard player, or DJ, was a huge leap. Feel the fear and do it anyway right?! Performing at Canada Olympic House for Team Canada 🇨🇦 is a monumental milestone for me, both personally and professionally. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and feel like I’m floating! Having the love and support of my future husband by my side makes this moment even more special. The crowd was electric, energizing, and so much fun – they gave me life! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped me get here, especially @brunysurin, who advocated for me. I am forever grateful! This is one of my Faves to sing. I listen to this as though it’s not me especially when a drop of doubt tries to creep into my mind. I wish I could remember the very first time it “went” where it always goes to now without fail, which it totally surrender. I now know I was meant to sing this song in this season be it Solo, Piano Only, Big Band, it’s as though the song found me as plan for a season I’ve never ever experienced. Becoming a Wife to a Man who has encouraged me to find peace within the broken pieces of family Life. I see why people fear therapy… but I’m happy I’ve been getting the help to rip the emotional bandages off and start To treat the wounds that at one point blocked me from finding true love. The therapy is working 🙌🏾 Now to do the work to heal whatever has held me captive to a Career holding pattern. It’s been 29 years of “Getting to the front door of my Highest dreams and being rerouted to the shed in the back.” That’s what it feels like sometimes. “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery none but ourselves can free our minds…” @courtenayfrazer do you remember where we were? I love to sing. It’s what brings me pure, unspeakable Joy. It’s what I’m naturally Good at. It’s as though God steps in my body every time I step on any stage and I become his healing instrument. It’s a very out of body experience.
