The Sydney show was exhilarating, in every moment I felt the complete silence, warmth and love from all of you who came to be with us. Video created by the wonderful @sam_jaxon.
I’m so proud of you @Natalie_noz for completing your Masters at Kings College while being a mum of two and having a full time job, all from Tbilisi. You have the best kind of determination – it’s ninja humble, you’re wise, and you’re always quick to laugh. You’re my absolute super hero. Xx

I wanna share one of the things I love about the Georgian alphabet: each letter represents every single sound in the language, which means there is virtually no way to misspell anything. When I was learning English at the age of 8, I couldn’t understand how so many of the English letters had so many possible sounds. The problem becomes very apparent, for example, when years later I try to make a call to a phone company or an energy company and have to give the spelling of my name. To achieve the correct results I have to use the NATO phonetic alphabet: M for Mike, E for Echo and so on, which down a phone line can take up precious time before I’ve reached the reason for the call. I know this is a niche thing to write about, but I think about it a lot, as the sound of words in my adopted language is a big part of my songwriting. Because English letters are not direct representatives of the sounds, as a songwriter I had the joy of discovering the phonemic alphabet, shown in picture 3, which thankfully does paint a more accurate picture of the sound of words. For any language nerds out there: does anyone know why the English alphabet developed this way? And any multi-linguists out there, would you share what quirks or efficiencies your (m)other languages have? K x

I need to tell you about the band on this tour, we met on the Wednesday, rehearsed for 2 days and our first show was on Friday at Bluesfest, they were electrifying to play with. @arwen_hunt thank you for making the introduction. @yungbillydavis, @angryb.albert and @stephenlanebass you made this Australia tour feel limitless. Your enthusiasm and energy felt truly divine. Then the rest of our team, Sumit and Bryony you know, our guitar tech at Bluesfest @tomcd and our monitors @mike_osman I always find it so inspiring working with some of the greatest in the industry. Every part of bringing a live show together is fascinating, my road family thank you for giving it your all. Photos @rubindanny

Our two nights in Zurich were magical headlining the Waterfront Festival. Thank you to every single one of you for the stunning memories and thank you @actentertainment.ch In case anyone wonders what you could do in Zurich in the summer heat, slide to the right and you can see the river I went for a swim in…
Here we are in Melbourne, felt like one of my favourite shows ever, this city is magical, I wanted to soak up so much more of it. It was the greatest way to finish our tour, thank you for everything Melbourne. Photos by @rubindanny

I am beyond excited to be performing at the @bbcradio2 Piano Rooms concert in Manchester on the 14th of September. Performing with an orchestra is one of those utterly stunning life experiences, it’s like being at the bow of a giant ship as it sails, yes like that cheesy Titanic scene. I’ll be performing songs from Album 8, with its amazing orchestrations for the first time with a live orchestra, plus some favourite select covers. Tickets at link in profile.
