The Groke
written in January on a small island Norway felt quite dramatic in minus 25 Celsius
landscape wore a snow coat, light almost gone for the season making a shimmer of blue upon it’s surrender
I got to thinking about The Groke, a character created by Tove Jansson in her Moomin universe
wherever The Groke goes the ground below her freezes, everything she touches follows faith
She wants to socialize and seeks out people and warmth, but all in her path turn away
The Groke as apt lore of the nordic countries brutal seasons?climate around the world getting even more temperamental
Chorus end sentence is borrowed from Timothy Mortons “Dark Ecology” (go read I can’t explain)
