Getting a puppy has been such a growth activator for me. I was already at max capacity for overwhelm and felt like the puppy’s arrival was going to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. The truth is, she is an angel, and it’s only my residual perfectionism tendencies that continue to break my emotional camel’s back 🙄. Surrender in progress!🤪
We lucked out with this incredible pup. I want to give a huge shout out to Julia at @bountifuldoodles who let me come visit the litter and pick the smallest, sweetest girl. She wasn’t anxious at all and had a precious sweetness about her. We decided to go with a breeder because Riley really wanted a red/brown mini goldendoodle. (I know there are so many furry friends that need rescuing…maybe we will rescue a brother or sister for her next.)
After we selected her, We sent her to training for two months with @puppystepstraining which was the best decision we ever made. Brad, his wife, and crew of kids, dogs, and beautiful land gave Goldie the most amazing foundation. When we got her at the end of training she was crate trained, potty trained, leash trained, socialized and just had the perfect temperament. Brad actually said Goldie had been his favorite goldendoodle he had ever trained 🤩 I’m so grateful for Brad…he not only trained Goldie, but he trained me how to be a good Alpha dog 🤣 I would say I’ve earned a C in keeping it all up but, hey, we do our best and we find our way.
