Our September cover star, Laura Bell Bundy (@laurabellbundy), has been charming audiences as one of Broadway’s most endearing—and funny—leading ladies since her breakout role as Amber Von Tussle in the 2002 musical 𝘏𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘺. Bundy, who went on to originate the role of Elle Woods in 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 in 2007, has taken the literal meaning of her iconic character’s name all the way to the actual woodlands of Hunterdon County. During the pandemic, she and her husband, TV producer Thom Hinkle, left California for a fresh start on a quiet Tewksbury farm, where they’re raising their 5-year-old-son, Huck, and wholeheartedly championing a Garden State way of life. In the midst of majorly renovating two properties, they tend to sheep and goats, bottle homemade maple syrup, and are working on plans to open a boutique winery and host classes/events (follow along via @thehardscrabblefarm). “I’ve fallen in love with New Jersey,” Bundy says.
