I’ve always been more of an experience person than a gift person. When I asked Cait Cait what she wanted for her birthday this year, the one thing she really asked for was to go and get her nails done. Let me tell you, watching my three year old getting SO excited to pick out her color (her favorite blue, of course💙) sit there as still as possible and be so patient while they dried, almost brought me to tears. Being a mom and having a daughter is magical in a million ways. But one of my favorites is a child’s ability to make a random Tuesday with no significance whatsoever, one of the most magical days of your life. Getting my nails done with my daughter is something I’ve always dreamt of doing, and I can’t believe I’m actually getting to do it. Cait Cait, you are pure magic. You’re my best friend. And I can’t believe I’m one of the luckiest people in the world to have a front row seat to your life. PS: Mom’s. Fair warning. Nail polish makes your child look at least three to four years older. Prepare emotionally.

One year ago today, @kthoff7 and I sat down for our first meeting to brainstorm what a podcast would look like together and what our mission and goals would be. A year later, we have 32 episodes, spent ten days at Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, and two weeks in Paris for the Olympic Games. We have had some of our dream guests already, and it’s truly unreal to sit back and look at what has happened since this brainstorm meeting, 365 days ago. To our supporters, we literally wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you for all the love you have shown us and this podcast, and we are so excited to continue this journey together and bring you so much more down the road. We love you unfiltered fam🫶🏻

Finally feeling like I’ve had some time to recuperate, recover, and reflect on what these last few weeks were for all of us. Going back to my first Olympic Games as a spectator and fan, with the opportunities I had and most importantly alongside my family, is something I truly have no words for. To work with companies and groups like @teamusa, Cisco, Deloitte, Google, Cupshe, and Yahoo Sports all over a period of 12 days was both a whirlwind and a blessing. Getting to see this side of the Olympic Games with the new perspective of not only six years retirement but also as a wife and a mother, was so refreshing and encouraging. To be honest, I’m still tired😂 But am forever impressed with Cait and how well she did not only on the entire trip, but also adjusting back home. And while I know so many of us are sad the Olympics are over, the BEST NEWS is that the PARALYMPICS start on August 28th!! Please watch and support our athletes as you have these past two weeks. The cheering, support, and love I have seen for @teamusa brought me such joy, and I know we’ll bring the same amount of enthusiasm for the two weeks of the Paralympics as well. To @thayesjohnson and @mere.dipasquale, and all the love and support back home, this literally wouldn’t have been possible without you. It truly does take a village, and I have the best one in the world❤️🌎
