I’ve been delivering for @mealsonwheelstoapayoh for a few years now, sometimes with my colleagues at @ohmyhomesg, with @rhondawong, my friends, my kids, and often my mum. My mum is always my biggest supporter. She will always help me out when everyone else is busy. One memorable delivery with Cara involved meeting two aunties. One was very kind, but the other, right next door, was very unhappy. During the mid-autumn festival, I brought mooncake from home to share with the unhappy aunty, but she scolded me and threw it out. Cara was shocked and scared. I used this moment to teach Cara an important lesson: even though the two aunties live in the same type of housing and have no family to care for them, one can choose to be kind and happy while the other may not. Doing good doesn’t always mean being appreciated. In our job, we also encounter unreasonable customers.
