“Sex, latex and lovely interior furnishings.” 💅 To mark GAY TIMES’ 40th birthday, comedian, actor and writer @josierones is taking us through the archives. Rosie explores the adverts in the May 1989 issue, whilst opening up about how it feels to be part of GT’s legacy.
This was a huge moment for me. If you had told me twenty years ago, back when I was a little, closeted, confused, queer girl in a small Yorkshire town that one day I’d be on the front cover of The Gay Times, well, I would have told you to stop chatting shit. And to be wearing LATEX no less. Thank you to my dream of a stylist @brittan_y_ for always pushing me out of my comfort zone and giving me the confidence to be the big sexy lesbian I always wanted to be. Love you. Love my queers.

Ironically there’s no better word to describe yesterday than PROUD. Proud to be marching with @stonewalluk, proud to be surrounded by thousands of our queer family (and to feel the love too), but most of all proud to be walking with @aislingo. The person with so many roles in my life, most importantly my best friend. Thank you for linking me, literally and metaphorically, through life. Exciting times ahead. I love you mate.

TATTOO TIME. Tonight is my last time performing my show, Triple Threat, and I feel so emotional! I’m so proud of this show and by some miracle I’m still not bored of it. So to celebrate self identifying as a prick every night on stage I have permanently etched the prickliest thing I know onto my body. Strong as shit, resilient and fiercely independent, I love my little cactus 🌵❤️

We got some bad news about Rosie Jones’ favourite shoes…
If you invite me into your home, I WILL sit in your hallway and I WILL steal your dog.
Did you get it?! 😂 #BluePeter #CBBC
