St. Vincent Instagram – If you’ve listened to @st_vincent ‘s latest album, you probably had the wind knocked out of you by the last minute or so of “Reckless.” The ferocious, industrial headbanger of an outro is meant to show how it feels to be “truly unmoored by grief,” she says:
“I think I’ve had fears with certain people who I love so much that it’s like you’re preemptively trying to prepare yourself for not having them because, you know, that is inevitable and it’s like you’re trying to pre-grieve in a way to make it easier when the inevitable happens, which of course is, you know, missing out on the moment.”
St. Vincent joins us on the show to talk about the making of “All Born Screaming,” and why she chose to ground this record in the beauty and brutality of the real world. Plus, she performs live.
