An immeasurable amount of wholesome moments with family in Australia and Canada! 27. Watched my husband launch his brand @kalonwatches 28. Surprised him with a business launch party! 29. Finally received my stock for @swanathelabel and have officially shipped to customers all over the globe! 30. Finally bit the bullet and cut/coloured my hair and I love it! 31. I had such an unforgettable experience putting this whole shoot together. I had the chance to be in Shanghai through work and I absolutely LOVE wearing our South Asian attire in other parts of the world so I had to seize the opportunity. I researched photographers and came across @thegreyexperience and loved his work especially the way he photographed melanin so reached out and he was so onboard! As per the branding of @thesareeroom and the requirements they had for their campaign I found this beautiful art gallery in Shanghai. From waking up bright and early on the morning of my second last day in China before flying out to glamming myself, styling this beautiful @thesareeroom ensemble to getting to play Rapunzel in Shanghai – it was such a unique experience. I feel super blessed to have had this opportunity to travel and also work with an amazing creative. To be able to showcase the beauty of our South Asian clothes in the heart of Shanghai shot through the lens of a Ghanian was an epic collab come to life! you could be related by blood and still come in all shades of brown as a South Asian. I know how hard it can be when the elders of our community have a very different mindset on what is beautiful and sometimes perpetuate that backward mentality on to you. Comparing you to your nearest and dearest is like a special kind of Olympics for them 🫠 That’s why it’s so important to work on your self image and self love and know your worth so external opinions don’t make you buffer. We both spent ALL morning getting ready together, sharing our makeup, sharing our tips, helping each other out, getting draped by @drapingbyb akka and then just experiencing all the chaos that comes with brown events. Tbh it was so wholesome as cousins that live in two different states & don’t get to see each other as often. We know in many households comparisons take place and it can tarnish your relationships but remember to be so deeply rooted in loving yourself and seeing your worth nothing will taint how you see yourself 💗. If you are feeling low or insecure take THIS as your reminder EVERYONE is beautiful in their own complexion. We scheduled a vision board night/morning today where we logged on and talked about 1 thing we manifested this year delving into all the exciting context behind it. It was so beautiful to revel in each other’s success and vibrate together. We followed this with sharing one limiting belief or bad habit we were struggling with. It normalised not having it all together and that we were all just on this journey of life trying to find a balance. We dissected each others limiting beliefs shedding light on how we would handle it. Next on the agenda (a very loose agenda because we travelled on so many different tangents 😂) we each shared a goal we wanted to work towards or achieve in the new year and then brainstormed together how we can help one another achieve said goal. We talked about our vision boards sharing techniques, what’s worked in the past, how we were structuring it and even sharing glimpses of what’s going on the new boards! From the vulnerability tears were shed, smiles were had, laughter echoed as we cheered and applauded one another. There was genuine pure connection and wholesome vibes shared. It was a really beautiful way to get each other to that beautiful frequency so we can go ahead and work on our vision boards! 💗 I wanted to share this beautiful energy exchange on the feed in hopes it’ll inspire some of you as you start to reflect on the year and look towards what 2024 brings. Also thambi made his first Pinterest Vision board today which was really exciting! 🥹
