This one is for my fellow 4-eyed bandits 🤓 (all the 👓 you see in the carousel are prescription spectacles 🥹) Recently I forgot to bring my contact lenses to set and my eyes twerked on me the whole night. It’s been a while since I’ve experienced strain-induced headaches. This made me realize that I’ve been wearing spectacles for 15 years now 😮 I remember in matric (2009) I started suffering from headaches so bad I had to ask my gran to take me to the doctor on a SCHOOL DAY. The migraines, coupled with the now popped blood vessels in my eyes, and fuzzy vision made it an easy diagnosis and off to the optometrist I went! It felt like a death sentence for my inner nerd💔 Class A and B were the top classes and our class was the cooler of the two (fight me if you disagree🤪) and now I was going to bring the group average down with this new look!!!! When I tell you that absolutely NOBODY cared 🙃 Anywho. Cut to varsity… I can’t remember if I lost or broke my spectacles but I remember spending most of my years squinting at the board and POP! POP! POP! More popped blood vessels stained my eyes (hence the brown spots in my eyes). This is also when I developed the habit of looking straight down when walking as it was annoyingly fuzzy otherwise😅 I had so many people complain that I never greeted them when they saw me. Well, first of all: I NEVER SAW YOU! I eventually got new spectacles (they were free as i got them at a government hospital). Those held me over till around 2015 when I could afford to buy “funkier” frames and that’s when I started wearing lenses. Do you know how hard it is to be without sight on set? You don’t realize how much you rely on lip reading when talking to people until you can’t read their lips and you need the director to speak louder because you can’t see🤣 I’ve had the most fun the last couple of years. I think I definitely have a shape that I like but @eyelegance_optometrists (frames 1-6) has encouraged me to experiment more with different frame types. Choosing the different colors to tint my spectacles has been my favorite: from black to brown to green, I’ve done it all! In conclusion, there’s fun on the blinder side of life too🥳😂

I’ve loved reading for as long as I can remember. It’s one of those things whose start genuinely makes me giddy with excitement and whose end induces heartbreak – happy or sad ending, you’re likely to find me shedding a few tears. Through reading we traverse plains without leaving the comfort of our own homes. I think reading is what made me excited to explore the rest of the world: I always knew that there’s so much more out there than whatever it is I was experiencing at the time. My sister was never a fan of reading and I couldn’t wrap my head around it, however, as I meet more and more people I realize that’s a ‘thing’ … like, there are people in this life who are very indifferent to the experience of reading 😮🥹 some cite being easily distracted or getting bored and sleepy and, with each new reason, I have to clutch onto my invisible pearls 😭 Lol. But I am proud to say that my sister is now actively trying to build the habit of reading. (She asked me not to put any pressure on her when she saw me get hyped about it🙃😭🤣😂) When I went apartment hunting one of the first things that made me really fall in love with where I stay was the bookshelf. Oooooooh. It was brown and empty and just ready to be filled. I’m not in a rush to fill it but adding a book every now and then makes me super excited. (Frames 2 and 3 were how my bookshelf was Jan 2021. The other frames are my bookshelf now) I encourage you to read. Open up your mind, exercise the brain, think about what it is that you’re curious about and dig in. It doesn’t have to be thick novels. Start small and build from there 2 Questions: 1. What’s your favorite book? 2. To those who enjoy reading: What would you say to those who struggle with reading? Like, what could they try to do? Maybe try with one chapter a day or allocate 30 minutes a day, etc. You know how those who drink try to get the non-drinkers to drink on some: “nooo, try this cocktail, they gave you the wrong one”, blah blah, yeah. That type of unwarranted advice 😂🤣😭😭 HAPPY READING! (“Buckingham Palace, District Six” and “Chinese Cinderella” were books we had to read as part of the curriculum in high school. I’ve loved em since)

And then people want to know which one is my favorite 😮 that’s not a fair question 😫 for now know this: G.T.S are now my favorite letters in the alphabet 😉 @porscheusa I’m grateful to those who have been on this adventure with my bestie and me. From those who organize it to those who make me look cute on occasion to those who capture these moments 🥰 I appreciate y’all. @drmusamthombeni how many manje mfethu?
Been really enjoying the last couple of months of set. Training to LOOK like I know what I’m doing while attempting to look COOL has been one of my favorite things in this process. Today my mind went back to 2022 when we were playing around with @noah_fleder and @thetheodorepark so I slapped those videos on at the end 😉 it’s giving “stay ready so you don’t have to get ready”🤣😂🤣
Let’s play a little game 😉 JOKES! It was super cool to be able to configure the #porsche #MacanElectric on the site and get to experience it in real life 😮 the possibilities are endless with @porscheusa Can you see how crazy happy I was to match with the Macan Turbo🥹😮💨 I really need to work on my public laugh 😭 currently it’s not very demure, nor is it classy nor mindful but the dress made it cutesy😉🤣🤣
